  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Bought my 2013 3.8L brand new in 2014. It's been a great car. I love it. No repairs to date other than a front-end alignment of some kind due to uneven tire wear.

It's got about 33k miles on it. Barely driven in the past 10 months due to the pandemic! (No, I'm not a grandma and when I do drive I tend to drive fairly aggressive). Short trips to grocery store, etc.

All I've ever done is oil changes at 3k miles (based on miles rather than date). Tire rotations. Cabin filter replacement. A couple engine air filter replacement.

I refused all things my dealer pushed on me like trying to charge me $100 to "clean" brake rotors (wtf?!).

I general follow precisely what the owners manual says, but I also feel that some modifications may be in order due to low mileage.

I'm coming up on 7 years old and 36k miles. Anything you all recommend to make sure I don't miss? Unless I wreck, I plan on driving another 4 years and then passing it to my to-be-16-year old.

Looks like I should replace fuel filter.

Coolant flush seems not to be recommended for a loooonnnng time. (dealer tried to push that on me at 20k miles).

Differential oil inspect/replace??

If it ain't broke...

Sounds like me. I have a 2013 V6, with the Tech Package, and have a hair under 30,000 miles on it. In fact, I only put on 1,800 miles on, in the last year.
So far, so good. I just pay for oil and filter changes, once a year (at most, I put on 3000 miles a year) When i bought the car, I received a coupon book for 8 years of oil changes that cost me $8.95 an oil and filter change. I changed the air filter and the inside filter last fall, by myself, and paid to have the tires rotated last spring, for the second time. Nothing has failed on the car, since I bought it, so I'm, quite happy with it.
I use top tier regular gas, so I don't have to add their fuel additive. I also deny their money grabbing cylinder head cleaning scam.
I'm still on the original tires and the original battery. The tires will probably have to be replaced before next winter, and I carefully listen to my cranking speed this winter to make sure that my batters has at least one more winter in it. (it still cranks fine below freezing, but we haven't had any sub zero temps yet, this winter).

2013 RSpec sedan with 35k. Oil changes and tire replacement (the OEM Continentals suck).

I would definitely change the battery and buy a new 5yr battery. Don't be like me and get stuck in the summer at a National Park in 103 degrees. Heat puts the zap on batteries just like the cold. Luckily a park ranger jumped me and I was able to get to a Wal Mart 20 miles away.
