thanks man.. will go to service center soon ..
Its the rear propeller shaft. Same thing with my DH genesis.Hey guys just wondering if any of you have a slight drivetrain vibration between 23-25 mph? You have to have everything off to really hear and feel it, but no matter what gear, accelerating, decelerating, load or no load if I am going between 23-25 mph there is an audible and physical vibration right under the center console. It almost goes away after a few miles though so its really weird.
I feel that its either the driveshaft or the center differential...either way its very annoying as when I start my car whether in the morning, afternoon, night, etc. I never have the music on so I can hear it...and driving through my neighborhood I always drive at that speed to the entrance.
The car will be going to the dealership eventually, but just wondering if any of you had this problem and if there was a simple fix.
Thanks
Dealer swapped tires from another Genesis, Vibration is still present. Now they are replacing the rear axle and possible rear differential.. Let the guessing game commence!Dealer changed the entire Driveshaft 2 weeks ago - The NEXT day the car still vibrates around 30mph. They then say i might need a rotation.. THat fixed nothing, Now they say my Michelin tires are not factory and that's the problem. I try to tell them about these blogs of hundreds of thousands discussing this issue. They act like they don't know anything about it.
I was in love with this car and now it's like a high-maintenance gf and I just want out of it.
I am having the same issue, they just replaced my drive shaft and I am taking it in tomorrow because the vibs are still there. There is a TSB for the drive shaft adjustment angles, see attached file.Dealer swapped tires from another Genesis, Vibration is still present. Language within the TSB indicates that it does. The fact that they never changed the name or indexing is a whole other question! My dealership had to be told about the TSB. Not very comforting. The TSB states it applies to 2015 and 2016 AWD vehicles. Does anyone know if there is also a similar TSB for RWD vehicles? My 2015 3.8 RWD has a shimmy/drone.
They rotated and balanced the tires and the problem was still there, so the Mechanic called a Hyundai Tech and was told to replace the transfer case. I just picked it up and it does seem to ride smoother. I will double check it in the morning after it has sat overnight.Mine goes in today for the same issue...after playing the tire guessing game twice. I had to give the TSB to the dealership.
Has there been any success resolving your shimmy?
I have a 2016 genesis sedan RWD with the same concern. Mine shakes or shimmers at 30 mph til 34,35 mph. My car has been in and out of 3 different dealers ovdr the last year and a half and none of them can figure out the issue. They have replaced the differential, axels, throttle body, spark plugs, deep engine combustion cleaning, replaced the transmission, and the drive shift. All of this done and when they give the car back it is still doing the same thing. What socks is I am the second owner and warranty expires at the end of February. I will forward TSB to my service manager and see if they want to give it a try. Well, I drove it this morning after sitting overnight and it still has a vib at 30 mph, it's not as bad as it was right after the drive shaft change but it is still there. It smooths out after a few miles though. I think the key is getting the shaft angles correct, the mech wrote that the shaft angle was 6 degrees off. I'll tell them about it, but I can't wait for them to keep changing parts trying to fix it...I have a 2016 genesis sedan RWD with the same concern. Mine shakes or shimmers at 30 mph til 34,35 mph. Two fairly short test drives since they aligned the drive shaft. Everything is looking good!Mine goes in today for the same issue...after playing the tire guessing game twice. I had to give the TSB to the dealership.

Propeller shaft most likely. Had the same in my 2015 and replaced it.Hey guys just wondering if any of you have a slight drivetrain vibration between 23-25 mph? Thanks for sharing this service bulletin. I just spoke to a tech at the dealer in Framingham, MA. Was told Hyundai is aware of the issue and there is no fix at this time.I am having the same issue, they just replaced my drive shaft and I am taking it in tomorrow because the vibs are still there. Yeah, they basically told me that they (Hyundai) don't know how to fix it yet, so...Thanks for sharing this service bulletin. I just spoke to a tech at the dealer in Framingham, MA. Was told Hyundai is aware of the issue and there is no fix at this time.
