If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I’ve replaced the alternator and the battery and took it to the dealership 3 times and they tell me nothings wrong with the car, The car drives for 3 days when I get it back and I let it sit on the weekend and try to unlock it and start it Monday morning and there’s no sign of any electricity running in the car ! Can some one help me ? I have a Genesis 5.0 rspec 2013

Open the trunk and play with the battery connections as there is a known issue with this.

Is the battery in your fob dead?

Lol I was thinking same thing
When it gets weak sometimes you have to hold the fob and actually press the start button with the fob cause it doesn’t recognize it the car actually shows you this on the dash !

I too am curious about this issue. I purchased my RSPEC 2 months ago -- 52K on the clock. Recently I went to garage to drive it after sitting for 3 days and ..... nothing. Completely Dead. The battery Battery was installed by dealer only 2 months ago. I sent it to dealer for diagnostic. They replicated the no start condition after trying to start the next day. But after battery checks, current draw checks etc they said everything checks out. That was last week and ran fine afterwards.

It's been in my garage for 3 days so I will try this afternoon to see if it starts fine. Right now the red "security" light is still flashing so good sign.
My question is how can a weak battery in the key fob prevent any signs of life in the car? The first time, even when I unlocked manually there were no dome/interior lights. Thanks for the insight.

So no interior lights or anything ? I would have thought a draw somewhere too but if the dealer has checked it hmmm .
I’ve learned that when the batttery in the fob is dead you can still start the car by doing what I suggest in last post
But if you have no juice what so ever that might be a different issue all together

My in laws pos pt cruiser had a draw that I couldn’t find had to unhook the battery and rehook every time we started it Otherwise it would eat batteries

No it was deader than...well you know. Dealer said the current draw is within spec. So today will make 72 hours since last driven. Probably will start. I did invest in a portable battery boost just in case.

My 2015 had a similar issue & it ended up being a poor connection from the trunk battery connection harness farthest from you, I think its the +. They finally fixed it after several tries with a new harness & no problems since.

This sounds about right ,good place to investigate

One way to check is to start the car, turn it off, then jiggle the connector & try restarting. Repeat a small number of times to verify. You may want to do this in the dealer parking lot in case it does not start again. You could try the plus & minus sides separately.

Well I just started her up for the 1st time in 3 days. Started right up. When the no start condition happened I did notice an ever so slight play in one of the battery terminals. I tightened but still had to go to dealer bc it would not start. Maybe it's all good now --- we'll see. probably inconsequential but windows were folded in the first time but not today.

Well today ( after 72 hours of being in garage ) she started right up. The other day when it would not start I did notice an ever so slight play in one of the terminals. I tightened but still took to dealer ( where they found nothing ) even though the next morning the tech said he experienced the no start condition. So maybe it was a one off issue. Thanks for the comments.

I have the same exact vehicle It's a sweet car nevertheless has a few flaws with that postive battery connector in the trunk 3 things 1)Check your battery post connections in the trunk make sure they are tight at all times 2) Discard the Factory Battery get one brand new from like Autozone 3) Change your key fob battery with new one also push start using your actual key fob not your finger

Remove and replace or better get new battery cables. I use the AGM battery from Autozone
I have been stranded by this car due to lack of battery power to start.
no fun
get the AGM battery and some new cables

Listen to good advice from experienced owners sometimes these dealerships can not resolve all your car issues even though they claim that's their goal Some dealerships have alot of flaws and short comings with services

I also had to replace the starter as it went out. Maybe that is an issue?

Same thing happened to me. Use the fob to start the car. I changed the battery in the fob, seem o.k. now.
