  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis - 2,823

G70 - 532
G80 - 649
GV80 - 1,521
G90 - 121

Stated that the new G80 will outsell the G70, but would like to see that figure up to around 1k.

Pretty much selling every GV80 allotted to the US market; should be able to do 25k/yr, but the problem is expanding production (line is already working overtime).

Sheesh, right out of the gate, the GV80 outsells all other Genesis models combined. Not a horrible thing, but man people interested in the G90s had better spread the word.

Sure, but that is really a few months of preorders and sales. I expect is will still be good for a while and ahead of sedans.

I think they will be always be ahead of sedans because of the times we live in. There could also be somewhat of a "bathtub" effect; where the rising SUV sales could bring further floor traffic (and potential sales) that might benefit sedans, particularly for the G70 and G80. That's just wishful thinking though. In reality, the GV80 and GV70 are going to dwarf all the other Genesis models.

I had my best friend (who is a diehard Audi guy: owns an S5, an eTron, a TT for his wife, and is trying to buy a V10 R8) email me a photo of the GV80 the other day telling me how sharp it is.

On a tangent: Genesis can't afford to blow this one: they're going to have to bite some bullets to fix things if they end up problematic and make some people happy who are trying out the brand the first time.

G80 and GV80 sales rose a little from December, but G70 and G90 sales declined sharply.

More concerned about G70 sales than for the G90.

Not sure if the FL will change things much for the G70 (maybe a decent bump at the start), esp. if the base doesn't get the bump up to the 2.5T.

Korea - 11,497

G70 - 1,001
GV70 - 2,287
G80 - 5,650 (#7)
GV80 - 1,965
G90 - 594

Stinger - 279
Mohave - 896
K9 - 433

Nice to see the Genesis lineup getting fleshed out - up to 5 models.

GV70 sales should increase, but don't expect it to catch up to the G80.

Will have to wait and see if the FL G70 sales improve further; not surprisingly, the aging G90 and K9 continue to decline in sales (wouldn't be surprised if a mix of owners switching to the GV80 and the new G80).

For comparison:

E Class - 2,760
5er - 1,730
A6 - 1,083

GLC - 467 (#8)
X5 - 466 (#9)

As can see, the lux market in Korea is still dominated by midsize sedans, but the GV80 and GV70 have certainly increased the size of the market for lux CUVs.

G70 - 31
G80 - 34
GV80 - 108
G90 - 5

Sharp decrease from December, so don't know if Genesis was low in supply after the big December upswing.

Regardless, the G70 should not be getting outsold by the G80.
