  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Been looking for a solution to carry a bike rack on my car
Not interested in the roof rack

Talked to the geneses customer service about bringing to the USA the OEM receiver hitch, and they mention that most of their client are business that doesn't need a bike hitch. (I wonder if Genesis is going to cater mainly for business executives, or to everyone )

I'm so frustrated about this issue, as there is an OEM hitch (Part Number: G9H03AP000), but they won't bring it to the USA/

Looking for other solution to carry a bicycle

Thank you

Uhaul and e-trailer custom make hitches. just need to find a local location that does it.

I have had them made for several vehicles over the years, the cost is usually in line with OEM pricing. just call around or google.

your in Austin, TX here are a few places.

Called U-Haul, Curt, Spiller, and B&H
None of them have it or will make it

know anyone up in canada? Ontario to be precise? they could buy this and just send it to you.

option B would be to simply order it direct and pay the shipping...assuming they ship to the US.

BTW - very odd that this is available in Canada but not south of the border.. we have ~10% the potential buyers so it is weird that the manufacturer wouldn't want to maximize their market to exploit their ROI. maybe some certification or safety issue...but again i'd think Canada would be more stringent if anything.

Already been there, they don't have the part actually, in 2020 Hyundai and genesis Catalog got separated and Hyundai dealers can't order from the Genesis Catalog. I have where to buy in Canada, but with the shipping I'm looking at close to $800 before the hitch install

really, that blows. I've never had Curt or U-Haul turn me down. they have made hitches for my '32 ford, '39 ford. a custom front hitch for several Ford, GM and Dodge trucks front welded dual 2" hitch for quick use of a winch that was mounted on a steel plate and kept in the bed unless needed.

U-Haul their custom program, but will need to bring my car to their center in AZ, leave it for 5 days and wait 14 months

^ interesting. in Canada, Genesis "dealers" = Hyundai dealers. any Genesis part i've ordered has been done through a Hyundai dealer. the parts group is exact same group, however the vehicle sales teams are split. there are no actual Genesis dealers - they are called Genesis Experience Managers (aka 'agents'), and they work remotely although they'll have a hoteling station set up at their home 'dealer' (i.e. Genesis store) for any in-person dealings. Genesis CAD sales model is online ordering direct from Genesis through these GXM agents.

if the Hyundai dealer is not certified to work on Genesis then their parts dept. will not have access to the genesis ctalog

I have a Thule that is well-padded and attaches to the trunk lid and secures against the bumper and is lockable (so no one can steal the bike, or the rack.) It worked GREAT on my 2009 Infiniti M35x and I'm assuming it will work equally well on your G80 since the trunk lid and bumper are the same configuration.

Here's the exact model: https://www.amazon.com/Thule-Racewa...ywords=thule+bike+rack&qid=1612903900&sr=8-18

And other Thule models to choose from: Trunk mount bike racks
Hey Bill,

I had this unit on my old car, it puts too much pressure on the trunk lid when the hooks pull on that, and it does scratch the surface after a while, this is why I bought 1Up bike rack

I don’t think you can mount a hitch on these things. Here is how I carry my bicycle though.

I am using the TreeFrog vacuum-mounting bike rack for the past month.
Another brand is the SeaSucker.
