  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Here's one. This is an intermittent problem, when I push the start/stop button to shut the car off I get a total power failure (everything, no radio, no seat movement, no lights, nothing). It is like something trips the main circuit breaker, and everything comes back a few minutes later when the breaker cools off. Has anyone ever had this problem? '16 3.8 AWD Ultimate.

Battery terminal failure.

If it happens again, pop the trunk with the key and smack the floor a couple of times over the battery. Bet it comes back to life immediately.

Could it be loose. Everything works fine except the shut down...

Yes, the problem is it probably won't get any tighter no matter how hard you crank the nut (which will break off). If you take the cables off and reinstall you will probably delay the issue for a while.

It's only an issue because the battery doesn't have enough of a connection when the terminal warms up.

I just experienced the same today. When I depressed the button too turn off the car, everything shut down. I noticed that 'ACC' was lit. I depressed the button again to shut the car down.
Happened again, later in the day. No problem when starting.
