  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Someone claimed they ran a 12.80 in the 1/4 mile I find that hard to believe I own the same car a 2012 5.0 R-Spec and I'm a very experienced racer and have raced numerous cars and have the Trophies to prove it my best time is 13.51 at 103mph and if the 12.80 run is legitimate I want to know how in the world you got it to turn thst time there isn't a tune yet as far as I know to unlock the potential of the 429 HP on the 5.0 R-Spec.

Not correct. The tune does not add a ton of power, only about 15 20 WHP, but there is also a TCU module that raises the redline and turns it into a true sport shift tranny. I would not know how much it would shave off the 1/4 mile time since I never went with it. Maybe someone else would know, but it should shave off some time.

The best dragy verified 1/4 mile time I've gotten out of my rspec is 12.66 @112.5 mph. 12.8 should be the standard time for a clean R-spec with a good launch and low DA.

I've done 13.5 @ 107 on the highway at 45° F with cold 640 TW tires. I can't see any reason these cars can't run 12.999 or better on a prepped track with better tires.

Slap some mickey Thompsons in the rear you will see 12s bone stock.

I did a 13.6 here in Vegas , we have high altitude with heavy 20x11 in the rear and a not so good 60ft and no launch just go at green . I wasn't mad because my buddy's ISF ran a best 13.8 and some coyotes and srts bearly break 13s .
