  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So i have a 2010 gene. Sedan, v6. I had gotten it and drove it for probably three weeks until the trans. Went out. Realistically no one around me wanted to touch the anti mechanic car. Sent it to the dealership and they want a whole ass 4300 for a new trans. That just doesn't seem worth it considering that half the value of the car. And I'm sure theres a better route. Used obv. But if there any things that can be recommended

Dealer is usually the most expensive option. Have you talked to a transmission shop? Most will want to do a rebuild but it many be something repairable for less.
Sucks to have this after only 3 weeks. Hope it works out.

Trans issues are usually with the valve bodies in our cars. A good transmission shop will have no fear of fixing it.

My trans was slipping so I took it to the dealer and luckily it was still under warranty. Only had 45k miles. Hope you find a place for it. Good luck
