  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have had an ongoing issue with my 2017 Genesis G80. Over the last several months they have had to replace my entire transmission and now the primary console that controls everything from the radio, etc. doesn't work. Genesis has had my car for 2 weeks now, in addition to the week I lost a few months ago when my transmission went. The dealer has been as helpful as possible but I am upset with these ongoing issues. I have never had them on any car I have previously owned. I have generally been happy with my Genesis experience but I feel I need to elevate this issue. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

I too am having an issue with hard shifts in 3rd and 5th gears in my 2017 G80. Sometimes it’s so hard it feels like someone rear ended me. The dealership had my car for two weeks with no loaner. I had to borrow my sisters car. Got the car back and it is doing the exact same thing.

That's a similar issue to what was happening to my car. The dealer had to work with the engineering people at Genesis to figure out the issue. They ended up just replacing the entire transmission since it was still under warranty. A new transmission needed at 88,000 miles. That's a first for me. Now the issue has something to do with some kind of hack that impacted my sensors, satellite radio and my console. They have now had it 3 weeks and told me it may be another 2 more weeks while they have to write code ro reprogram everything. They have to write a Technical Service Bulletin to distribute to all their service departments on how to fix this problem since it is starting to occur elsewhere. I guess I am the guinea pig. The dealer has been great and has provided me a loaner the whole time. I am just aggravated at this point with Genesis. I loved the Genesis experience, up until 88,000 miles. Good luck with your vehicle

there is a bug in the Sirius XM data stream that has caused the nav system to lock up randomly. A whole lot of us have experienced this. There is a fix, you have to disable some of the Sirius services (traffic and a few others). bug fix is expected in the end of April at the soonest.

Thanks. I am aware of the bug with the satellite radio but my issues also include other issues such as some of the sensor warnings staying on, the entire display console suddenly shutting off and a whole host of other issues. Ironically, the issues all started right after they replaced my transmission.
