  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just heard about this but didn't find any details, do you know if it has anything to do with the recent brake tube TSB?

I tried to find some additional information but it looks like I cannot find too much.

Carfax just notified me about my old 2018 G80:

there is no information anywhere about it except from carfax but I called the dealer and I asked about a recall and she said yes the recall was legit but they were being slammed with calls about it so someone would get back to me.

That's because the dealership doesn't know the contents or the scope of work required. It could be anything from a software update to a full replacement of ABS and Radar systems.

I'd be leaning towards a potential hardware fault in the ABS module that causes loss of braking power in partially slippery situations. Odd that they rushed it to the table without actual information though.

I've read that that Hyundai's been fined recently for dragging their feet on recalls by the Feds - they might be trying to get ahead of this one...

I got this message from gasbuddy but I can't find further information

2016 3.8 AWD Ultimate (I mean ALL options) 30,900 miles. I LOVE THIS CAR except for the 32 mph vibration when the car is not warmed up.
I will call the dealer about Recall 201 tomorrow. Meanwhile, if my car burns up will Hyundai replace it?

Huh, good thing I booked both for an oil change service next week as it looks like both of them will need the ABS love :gee:...

On the bright side, if the 5.0 Grayhound survived the Blue Ridge 100 miles run, mostly chasing closely after a highly modded 300ZX monster last weekend, I am pretty sure she can survive for another week..:hangloose:

Looks like hyundai/kia has been dealing with ABS corrosion on several models in recent years. Also reports of fires on the Stinger. I wonder why the fix is a fuse and not the module (cheaper...). Might prevent an overload fire but would also be pretty awful for the module to fail when needed on the road.

Hopefully more detailed information will be released soon.

From Car and Driver today - ABS Fuse

Thank you.

I will pull my current ABS fuse while my car sit and then hopefully discovery the proper amp rating of the new fuse and pick up one from a parts store.

It seems like, unless Hyundai replace the defective ABS pumps, that a lot of owners will be just swapping out blown fuses until the warranty runs out.

The new ABS fuse appears to be rated for 25 amps on other Hyundai models so it may be the same for our model.

Now I have to go find out the current ABS fuse rating. I live in the epitome of Hot and Humid.

40A Delayed Action. Two of them. I see where this could go wrong already. I would like to say I yanked both of them, but in reality I only have one in hand as the other fell into the abyss.

So it seems like I will need two 25A delayed action fuses(based on the Hyundai Tuscan recall) to replace my two 40A amp delayed action fuses to prevent the ABS module from burning itself up in a high current event.

Wonder if I should stop using "Auto Hold"...?
