  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm not a fan of the regular incandescent DRL's. I love the look of the lightbar "swoosh" on my 2012 r-spec. Does anyone know of a way to have that turned on all the time, and leave the DRL's off?

Not without rewiring the lights.

This is a question as old as time. Or, at least as old as 2011. The brief answer is FUGGEDABOUDIT. The “swoosh” is not bright enough to be well-seen as DRLs.

Hey Orion,

There is a fairly simple solution to this. Simply add a relay to the low beams and leave the lights in the always 'ON' position on the blinker stalk. You can run a switch from the relay into the cabin to control the relay or use the parking sensor switch as the trigger. I literally just finished doing this yesterday and I love the results. I plan on posting a write-up of how I did this.

Buy a Canadian market car.. Always ON DRLs are required by law.
Appreciate the suggestion, but bringing a car from Canada is not easy. Better idea is to move to Canada. Any houses for sale on your block? A four bedroom can handle four families and you will meet many new friends. Do we have to learn French or just speak loudly in English?

As much as I would love to have you as a neighbor, you should know this fact (in today's local paper)

Looks like we need at least 6 families to share it. Appreciate the heads up. Oh, you may want to pick up an extra cases of Moosehead.

Not to worry.... I can get you a deal on one of these stylish Canadian abodes:

The DRLs are always on, but in this car they are actually the high beam bulbs. In short, that is not the problem being addressed in this thread.
