  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Do any of the gv80 model levels come with headlights that swivel as the car goes around curves? My Hyundai Santa Fe has that feature yet I can't find any documentation on this feature for the gv80. Thank you.

Nope

The dipped beam have a very broad bright pattern, better than any other car I have owned. My last SUV had swivel headlights, not sure this needs them the beam is so wide. The only problem I find with the lights are the dipped beams are so good the high beams don't seem to appear as effective. Switching from dipped to high isn't as obvious as with other cars, the main thing of note is road signs illuminating in to the distance that were not as obvious on dipped.

Thank you for that info.

If you get the 3.5 Prestige, the headlights don’t need to swivel as they are beam forming. The low beam AND high beam are on at all times at night. The high beam uses a beam forming technology to turn if individual emitters to maximize illumination and minimize blinding others. It’s cutting edge technology. Genesis’s Cutting-Edge Intelligent Front-Lighting System

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I’m pretty sure that the headlight technology referenced in the article does not exist, and is not offered, on U.S. Genesis models.

You might be right. I’m reading the North American owner‘s manual and I see no mention of IFS, only HBA (High Beam Assist). Still doing research...

Ok...so it appears the IFS system is only available on vehicles designed for the Korean market. With that being said, I’m not totally convinced the device is not present on the North American market vehicles, but simply deactivated. For reference, the Cadillac XT6 uses a similar technology. However, it too was forced to deactivate the system as the US “nannies” have yet to declare it safe to use on US roads. The US is terribly slow in updating headlight rules, so in this case, Cadillac simply deactivated the feature until it is allowed. Supposedly, the feature can be activated by a technician at a dealership, but ONLY when approved by the NHTSA.

So, there may be hope for those of us expecting the headlights to have IFS active. Additionally, never underestimate the aftermarket hackers....if there is a way to turn it on AND the equipment is already installed but simply dor any, we may be able to see the feature in use in the near future. Would be nice....

Yes i agree, but i do think that the hardware is the same compared to the korean gv80, must be some software switch.

Australia has IFS too, but has to be turned on each time by pushing the headlight stick forward. Annoying it isn’t enabled by default.

Interesting. Did you see the post about the missing fuse which may control the IFS system? What does your engine compartment fuse box look like? There is a theory the missing fuse labeled “ECM solenoid LH/RH” controls the IFS.
I’m going to have to search for an Australian model owners manual to see what it says about the IFS and perhaps what fuses are involved.

I was going to say if we could compare part numbers that might tell the story. However, I expect North America to have a different part number because we have an amber reflector on the inside of the housing where the KDM cars do not.

That IFS (even if not available here yet) makes more sense than trying to miniaturize the motors, etc. needed for swiveling headlights that fit within the slim quad form-factor (if at all possible without exorbitant cost).

I’ll have a look tomorrow and post some photos. :)

Please note if there are metallic contacts on both sides of the empty fuse holder. If there are not, then there is no wiring and adding a fuse would not add power to anything.

Just like the Auto High Beam function in my 2019 G80, every time you start the car!

See if these help... happy to take more photos. Wasn’t exactly sure I was looking for lol

That actually helps a lot! The fuse we thought might control the IFS is missing on yours as well. That means (since you do have IFS as you say), the circuit is somewhere else. In your owners manual, towards the back, does it show a fuse box (might be in the interior) that has a fuse labeled IFS?

Interior fuses - none mention IFS and only 2 I could find have any mention of headlights.

I've attached photos of every fuse related page in the manual :)
