If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I had BFGOODRICH G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S for about 20k miles which was then replaced with CONTINENTAL EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06.

Unfortunately car came with the new hire, so no warranty on it. I thought at 20k miles, wear wasn't too bad but different was noticeable once I left the lot.

I have sprint booster on max racing mode, and biggest differences were ride quality as well as significant reduction of slip on the rear. I thought sprint booster was off - traction was that flawless.

I have normally changed tired around 40-60k miles on "normal" cars, but it is really surprising how much the car eats tires. It probably does not help that I drive hard.

Now only if the flutter and sunroof issue can be fixed.. :(

PS: I paid about $1150 for installation, alignment, and roadside assistance at my local Hyundai dealership. I think that was a pretty fair price.

Rear tires wear faster than the fronts as you've probably read and have seen. I'm running Michelin PILOT SPORT A/S 3+ on mine and see the same (mine is AWD though being up here in Canada...).

Love the car and also have not had a problem with flutter or sunroof issues..

in the past 28k miles I have run through 4 snow tires and 2 rear sport all seasons tires. heavy powerful cars eat tires. I got less on the Super Sports my GT350 has.

That's a lot of tires. Changed my first Genesis at 33k because I had a 3000 mile trip ahead. My G80 is at 29k and expect to go 3 to 5 more.

If we could install a small anti-gravity device to reduce the weight of the beast by 1/2 a ton, we would save a lot in tires...
Sometimes car feels nice with heavy weight, but realistically car should have lost some weight 😅

My Falken FK510 summer tires only lasted about 2 years and about 15k miles. If I only drove the car in the summer than the tires would probably lasted a bit longer. I have to replace my tires soon since the rear tires are at 2/32 in the center at the lowest point on my tread depth tool. The fronts are about 3/32 at the lowest point on the edges.

So it look like I will have to save for tire changes every two years on this car with the 300 rated summer tires. All seasons tires may push that time up to every 4 years, but the summer tires are cheaper to buy compared to the brands I like so either way I will spend $$$ on tires for this car it seems since I cannot rotate the staggered tires on the 5.0.

Buyer beware. The 5.0 Genesis car eat tires like any BMW or Mercedes with a sport package. So you will not save money over those brands in regard to tire life.

Agreed. However, I am at 17,000 miles on my michelins on my 5.0, and I should get another 15,000 miles out of them. These big heavy
Powerful cars just go through tires.

I do like my 5.0 very very much. Best car I ever owned so far.:)

The FK510 tires help my 5.0 to handle and brake like a dream. Very good tires for the money if raw street performance is the goal during the summer months. Handling and braking is reduced in the cooler months as expected.

The Falken FK510 summer tires does have a good review from Tire Rack and deserve it based on my experience.

However, I may have to go with an Yokohama ADVAN Sport A/S+ high performance all season tire since I may have to drive my car in the winter if my older SUV has mechanical issues; which happened last winter. Plus, I really do not want to buy tires every 2 years.

The Yokohama ADVAN A/S+ tires costs about the same as the Falken FK510 at my local Discount Tire store, so I may have to live with reduced summer performance for better all year performance and about twice the service life.

Based off Tire Rack reviews the ADVAN A/S+ tires are fine, but not nothing to brag about. However, should work for my year round commuting needs since really do not push the tires hard often enough in reality to justify paying extra for stickier summer tires.

Note: After reading the Tire Rack reviews again and doing some actually driving on the Yokohama ADVAN A/S+; it seems like the ADVAN A/S+ tire actually have better dry performance than the Falken FK510 tires with the additional ability to use them in the winter. So I did not buy a lesser performing tire it appears, however the ADVAN A/S+ weakness compared to the Falken FK510 tires is braking and wet traction in the Tire Rack test.

I do not notice any real work difference is braking, but I notice that the ADVAN tires does loose traction(chirps rear tires) in the wet with a hard start compared to the FK510 tires. No big deal, but noticeable.

Both tire sets were tested on the same 2020 BMW against other tire brands, but the performance data is still what matters. Hopefully the Yokohama ADVAN tires will last atleast 3 years or about 25k miles before wearing down.
