  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Who has the Genesis GV70 at the TOP of their list for their next vehicle?

I wonder what the GV80 would look like if/when someone does a black vinyl wrap over all the chrome bits, and fits some black wheels. I mean, if you have GV80/SQ8 money, it may be worth it to see and cost a couple hundred bucks for the vinyl to be done, along with a grand or so for wheels. That should cut down on the 'garish' looks I think. I do agree, too much chrome. (Window surrounds, side "vents", bottom sill strips, roof rack rails).
Nobody wants chrome anymore , look at all the competitors from Europe most have dark trim and/or offer it as well as wheels . Big miss for the GV80 IMHO . the funny thing about the SQ8 I ordered is it comes with machined faces on the black wheels which I will have to wrap gloss black to match the rest of the wheel ......................The GV70 got it mostly right .

Stop your useless mumbling and stick to the topic.
I'm not mumbling, and I've been clear and concise. I've already talked to Sal about it (moderation of the forum and who are/aren't mods). You're not a mod.

Your trying to control things, to discuss what you think should only be discussed, is an/the/at issue. This isn't a court, or boardroom. You're not the judge, or boss. It's a forum, sometimes topics, being related, but not *exactly* having to do with the topic happen naturally. Don't like it? Block me. I've done nothing against the rules of the forum, and you're trying to be bossy, almost threatening. This isn't 2nd grade where only one child can control the discussion on the playground. That said, I'm done. :)

........................don't argue with "meathead" , this forum needs lots of input and discussion and this is how good Forums develop , I've been on BMW , Kia , Genesis and Audi Forums and your perspective of how they work is correct . I've dealt with Sal for years and I can assure you if meathead keeps this up Sal will give him a tune up !

I disagree with this statement.

Did you get the see the car?
To all those lucky people who get to see the GV70, could you check out a couple of things. First, are the seats in the sport model luxury comfortable. And, second, what is the leg room like for your right leg. Does it hit the console. Let us know.....THANKS

I disagree with this statement.
I also disagree with his statement "nobody wants chrome anymore." I would go on to speculate that the majority of buyers of this car will choose chrome and bright wheels. It's very possible if you took a poll of the participants (those who comment) on this forum you may be right, however many are probably not serious buyers. Just saying.

You're wrong too , but its almost the end of the free world so enjoy it ! :argue::argue::D................name 1 major competitor for the GV80 from Germany or Japan that doesn't offer a sport or black type edition , at least they offer a choice vs the GV80s BLING edition ......................I 'm a serious buyer and that's exactly why I went elsewhere to buy

Whoa, did I miss something?

It doesn't have to be from Japan or Germany. The Lincoln Aviator is very much one of the GV80's primary competitors and it also doesn't offer a blackout package.

I doubt very much the Genesis strategists even had Lincoln in their sights as a reference point , they dont even crack the top 5 in competitive sales , you dont shoot low when you're trying to be a "world" brand , and I note that even Lincoln offers at least a black wheel option

It doesn't matter whether Genesis considers them a reference or not, there's plenty of members here that cross-shop the two and have made entire threads about it. Plenty of reviewers have made comparisons of their similar styling as well. They are competitors, and the Aviatior still easily outsells the GV80 (though admittedly that's because the GV80 is volume constrained by manufacturing).

Black wheels are super tacky and I don't see many people tick that option on their luxury SUV's.

GV80 is not volume constrained there are plenty of them available , they just don't sell very well ........................and chrome is the epitome of tacky , unless you're Elvis ......................

The GV80 is volume constrained.

In fact it was the third fastest-selling car in the entire country back in January.

Black wheels look hilarious on raised minivans, but more power to you if you like them.

Piling up? Based on what?

According to Autotrader, there's currently 1696 new GV80s listed for sale in the entire country. Compare that to 2972 new Lincoln Aviators, 3000 new Acura MDX's, 3555 new BMW X5's, and 6235 new Lexus RX's.

I think you should stop speaking for the masses.
