  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Seems like a lost a key fob...
I drove all over Chicago today, called and checked all the places that Ive been to but no luck...
Funny things car starts and drives all day long with no problems. Earlier I noticed dash was signaling that key is not in a vehicle when I go to a gas station or something like that but not today...
Did anybody experience something like this before? Is it possible that key fob is stuck somewhere in a car?

Yes, recently someone lost the fob under the seat. Had a hard time finding it. If the car is starting, yours is probably in there. Look on the side you usually have it in your pocket.

Has to be in car. No way it starts otherways. Did you leave acc power on not lock door shut it and walk away. Because if you left key in car it will beep loud.

Hi, I am experiencing this now and it is frustrating as hell. I picked up my car from a parking garage drove off and at the next stop the car indicated it could find a key. I then looked for the FOB in the car and couldn't find it so I drove 25 minutes back to the garage and yelled at the same attendant. Unfortunately he did not speak English so it was a challenge trying to figure out what happened. I actually frisked him because I was convinced it ended up in his pocket before I drove off. We looked all over the garage and still no luck, so I drove 60 miles home and made sure not to turn the car off anywhere along the way. And I've been spending the last two days searching the car, including digging under the seats to no avail. Your post caught my eye because you mentioned that at times the car wouldn't recognize the fob either, so it must be hiding in one heck of a crevice. Considering the $500 replacement fee, I think I'll ask the dealer take the front seats apart!
