Unfortunately it's still the Fall version. I couldn't wait since I was still running the original software from 2015 on my 9" jog dial (and was tired of really old speed limits in the head up display). After completion, the version was nam.13.47.50.610.001.3
Appreciate some of the new features including
more accurate Speed Limits and correct maps for new roads and reconfigured interchanges (even though I already discovered hundreds of miles of incorrect speed limit on I35 through the entire state of Oklahoma).
My biggest gripe on our recent road-trip was the disappearance of MP3 Genres. With the old version doing normal MP3 listening, whether from Jukebox or USB stick, I could select a Genre and just hit shuffle. Not sure how long ago this feature disappeared (I upgraded from nam.07.43.43.003.1), but I can't find anything when searching these forums about the disappearance. This feature was listed in the original manual, and the car would remember your setting even after stopping and restarts. Very handy for dealing with lots of MP3s especially on short trips around town (with lots of engine restarts) - just select Xmas for example, and you were set for the entire season. In a car without
Apple carplay, it was the best listening method, and you could listen to tunes without constantly plugging/unplugging your phone.
Now when clicking "List", the option was replaced by "Recently Added" (truly useless IMHO). I did discover a new option at the folder level to play all songs, then you could shuffle within the folder. Since I have top level folders like Rock,Pop,Classical, I thought this would be a good replacement, but soon discovered that when you restart the car,
it forgets your selection and now only shuffles within the lowest level folder (normally a single album). And this option isn't useful in Jukebox, since it doesn't let you create folders.
It also don't see any way to create playlists, which would have given some alternative. Has anyone else discovered this issue and found a work around?
I guess if they fix the bug where it reverts to shuffling only the lowest level folder instead of the folder initially selected, I could deal. Hopefully someone has already reported this to MNSoft and a fix is in the works (if not, I guess I should).
...but we now have 'Calming Sounds to fall asleep at the
wheel' - I'll take my Genres back please!
