  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Map & Software update temporary not available for 2015-2016 Genesis for 9.2 Inch

Well I guess we'll be waiting until at least April 12. Hopefully v15.0 will work for the 9"Jog Dial units without issue.

Read this update on the mnsoft site (if you try to order the SD card by mail):

Map & Software update temporary not available

Modified on: Fri, Mar 26, 2021 at 3:43 PM

We apologize for the inconvenience, but we temporarily stop ship map & software update for all vehicles because new v15.0 will be released on 4/12/2021.

Thank you for understanding.

The update seems to be up as I am in the process of downloading it.

Supposedly the update allows for split screen (audio & map). Anyone figure how to do that? I had the 8" screen that was able to do that and really liked it. All I would have to do is press the Home button and it would automatically go to the split screen. On the 9" screen pressing the home button sends one to the options screen.

I just downloaded too but havent had the time to install it. Anyone else tried it yet?

everything Im seeing the new version isnt out yet....at least for my 16 touch

Unfortunately it's still the Fall version. I couldn't wait since I was still running the original software from 2015 on my 9" jog dial (and was tired of really old speed limits in the head up display). After completion, the version was nam.13.47.50.610.001.3
Appreciate some of the new features including more accurate Speed Limits and correct maps for new roads and reconfigured interchanges (even though I already discovered hundreds of miles of incorrect speed limit on I35 through the entire state of Oklahoma).
My biggest gripe on our recent road-trip was the disappearance of MP3 Genres. With the old version doing normal MP3 listening, whether from Jukebox or USB stick, I could select a Genre and just hit shuffle. Not sure how long ago this feature disappeared (I upgraded from nam.07.43.43.003.1), but I can't find anything when searching these forums about the disappearance. This feature was listed in the original manual, and the car would remember your setting even after stopping and restarts. Very handy for dealing with lots of MP3s especially on short trips around town (with lots of engine restarts) - just select Xmas for example, and you were set for the entire season. In a car without Apple carplay, it was the best listening method, and you could listen to tunes without constantly plugging/unplugging your phone.

Now when clicking "List", the option was replaced by "Recently Added" (truly useless IMHO). I did discover a new option at the folder level to play all songs, then you could shuffle within the folder. Since I have top level folders like Rock,Pop,Classical, I thought this would be a good replacement, but soon discovered that when you restart the car, it forgets your selection and now only shuffles within the lowest level folder (normally a single album). And this option isn't useful in Jukebox, since it doesn't let you create folders.
It also don't see any way to create playlists, which would have given some alternative. Has anyone else discovered this issue and found a work around?

I guess if they fix the bug where it reverts to shuffling only the lowest level folder instead of the folder initially selected, I could deal. Hopefully someone has already reported this to MNSoft and a fix is in the works (if not, I guess I should).

...but we now have 'Calming Sounds to fall asleep at the wheel' - I'll take my Genres back please!

How is there not a "Cancel Route" button on the map!?
Map.webp

Looks like the next update is going to reverse this. (press to cancel, hold to pause).
I don't understand the necessity for "pausing" a route? Whenever I'd turn off the car in the middle of having the nav system on for a trip, it would start up again when the car is turned on again.

You never take a side trip? If you go off route is will recalculate to get you back but if you pause, it is quiet going down the side road along the river or to a restaurant a quarter mile to the left.
I guess some of us are curious along the way and veer off route to see things.

Well, Ed - we always knew you were a curious kind of guy ;)

Yesterday I again had all sorts of fun trying to program a simple route to/from the everglades west of Ft. Lauderdale and home. My unit has phobia for toll roads; I generally have to put in at least 1 waypoint (sometimes more because it keeps trying to get me to exit same toll road that goes right next to my community - aye vay!). Any clues here (and its not the settings!)? Or just live with it?

Most navigations systems do have some quirks. Only setting would be to avoid toll roads or not. Could be some oddity in the route though.

I go through two tolls to my daughter's house. Last update I thought I'd try the navigation just to see what was new. It had avoid tolls checked and instead of the normal 30 mile trip it wante to take me 120 miles to avoid Skyway bridge on 75. I didn't think the extra 90 miles to avoid a $1.25 toll was a good tradeoff.

Of course I have, but in those cases, I cancel the route. Then, when I am ready to head to my original destination, I just go into Previous destinations and resume the trip.

Since the southern East Coast here has I-95 and the Turnpike closely parallel - I think that's part of the problem. I've made sure there is no preference against toll roads (been a while - not sure the exact nomenclature in the settings options). Unfortunately since I-95 is routinely a zoo, we choose to pay the toll to reduce our driving stress. That means most every time I have to custom program what should be a simply alternate choice selection (sigh)!

I just touch Resume.

The new update (released 4/12/21) seems to have brought back the "Cancel Route" button. Now, in order to pause the current route, you have to hold the Cancel button until the option to pause pops up.

I wonder if the Sirrius Data still locks up the 9.2" head unit...?

No, as far as I can tell, Sirius fixed that a little while back.
