What the heck is this? (Metal Bar fell out from under the car)

So Today I was driving and this metal bar was hanging down and scraping on the ground on the driver side, underneath the car. I pulled it out (it looks like the the under-shield was cut and this was stuffed up inside). Is this actually part of the car or an attempt by someone to sabotage my vehicle?

Good call, I guess I will set-up a camera to watch the car on the street at night. I park onstreet typically right below my home office window.

Looks like a crowbar. My best guess is that someone was attempting to pry away the undercover and then for some reason stop midway and left the crowbar.

Looks like a crowbar. My best guess is that someone was attempting to pry away the undercover and then for some reason stop midway and left the crowbar.

My amazing dealership service department was doing work on those undercovers because one was loose and making noise, they fixed that up, so I wonder if it was a thief, or them. I know it couldn't have been there long...

They think I picked it up on the road, but I highly doubt that, I'd have to be deaf to not hear that smack the bottom of my car as it perfectly slides into a slit created just for it.

If your dealership techs decided to use a crowbar to remove the underbody covers than I would find a different dealership to work on your ride.

However, anything possible so it could have just being a weird incident were your car may have picked it up in some odd form of impact on the road after being flung by a tire when you ran over it.

I remember a number of years ago while driving I suddenly heard a loud bang bang bang like a drum beat. Stopped the car and saw a screwdriver embedded up to the yellow plastic handle into the SIDEWALL of the right front tyre. That will show you how unpredictably things can fly off the road.

I still have and use this screwdriver now.

I'm not blaming the dealer and I didn't get picked up on the road, if it did, it was 100% silent went it happened. I truly don't believe this got picked up on the road. I would pull over immediately after hearing any noise.
