Any one ever put in a performance camshaft?

Has anyone ever put in a performance cam or something to get more sound and hp? Also i have some noisy lifters so how much would those be to fix as well? 4.6 engine

What engine do you have? There are places that will do re-grinds but those are pretty expensive. Are you sure it is lifter noise? How many miles are on it?

BTR has a canned and dyno tune for the 4.6. I can't speak on quality because I've never dealt with them. Does seem on the high side, specially coming from the Subaru world.

That's not really high mileage. Why do you think the lifters need replaced, does the tapping sound change when you rev the engine? What's the service history ie. oil changes etc?

The key is canned and even if they could create a custom tune you'd most certainly have to get your car to them to tune with a custom camshaft.

True. I'd love to get an open source community program going. In the Subaru world there's a program called Rom Raider that is all open source. You can use it on your laptop, not sure if they have live tuning now, they didn't used to when I was using it. I'd be up for trying to figure this stuff out but I don't have experience with deciphering the code. I'm trying to find as much info as I can on the topic in general cause I like to research stuff.

Best guess. 321whp tune + an estimated 5whp for the air filter.
