The new update definitely is slower to use for navigation. I find it takes longer to find the address. I do enjoy the new GUI though, finally looks more Genesis

So now my xm channels that are saved are at the bottom and just show channel numbers not the name. Before they we’re on the left side with the channel names. This is horrible, you do not know what the channel is when you want to switch to a preset until you scroll through them. Anyone know if there is a way to display the name and not channel number which is useless?

I installed the new v15 update (Apr'21) on my '19 G80 base model with the 8" screen. I downloaded the update and using the SD slot on my laptop, wrote it to an old SD card from a previous radio update.

On the above problem of not showing the names of the XM stations on the presets, I didn't even notice that - I'm familiar enough with my 6-8 presets to know by number what music they play. It doesn't take long to learn this.

I noticed that by default, the XM stations are not auto recorded in the background - you have to turn this on, by station. But that's not a bad thing, because some of the presets I have no desire to record. That saves recording space/time for other stations.

Some have said the sound is better in this release. Maybe my brain is telling me it sounds better when it really doesn't (this is the base radio with six speakers) but I would swear it sounds much better. I was really disappointed with this system's sound compared to my G37, but now it's not so bad.

On the issue of reverting to FM after bluetooth, you can select which services are available in the menus. I think I have AM, XM, and Bluetooth selected only. I prefer to mine to revert to my saved favorites only, and it seems to.

Navigation and voice recognition seems to work fine in the free times I tried it. No faster or slower. Overall, it's a better system.

Edit: Sorry I just realized this is a G70 thread, but I suspect many of the radio features are the same.

What TV used nixie tubes? For the channel display, I assume?

Please note that vacuum tubes, which the older (pre 80s) TVs used are not at all the same as nixie display tubes.

Yep. I can confirm that the knob no longer controls voice prompts volume.

The steering wheel button no longer controls Android auto.

Hyundai confirmed they removed the manual night mode on purpose.

For the 3 new things I like they broke 10. ,

This was a very poorly thought out release. If they had put all of this in the release notes I would have never updated.

Does holding the voice control button bring up the android auto voice prompt? In most cars I've driven, if a single press doesn't bring it up a long press will.

Funny you say it looks more genesis. I believe both KIA and Hyundai have the same look. I know our 2021 santa fe has the nixie tubes and I believe the look is being rolled out to all the Hyundai products. Pretty sure I saw on a youtube car review a Kia with the same nixie tube look.

edit: for what it's worth I don't care one bit that it looks the same on all three brands. i do think it looks terrible and is not a good fit for a modern car. the only thing I actually care about is how they updated how favorites are handled in a terrible way.

The April/May update is now available on SD card for those vehicles which use it. The bad news is that when confirming the mailing address for FedEx delivery the site says not available. Chat with rep reveals that any non-commercial address is refused by the hyundai/mapnsoft site. It will require some site repair to allow home address delivery. Try again next week, after Tuesday, says chat rep.

I just received a GV80 USB Stick for my GV80 Thursday via FedEx. As normal, the 2 Day FedEx took a week.

SD card for April update now available and owner of car must choose FedEx 2-day shipping. Ground choice is for dealers only, per AutoEver chat rep. This is Bill to Genesis for appropriate vehicles. I completed my order this afternoon. Tried to save them some money on ground shipping but no go. 2-day shipping means after receipt and confirmation of order and all orders close each day at 10 AM. Plus Fed Ex may deliver on Saturday, or not. Plus page says Covid delays expected. In other words, service is optional (their option).
