  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

If Hyundai is only building 2k GV80s a month for export, the other markets aren't getting many.

Aside from the GV80 where Genesis USA sells every one that they get their hands on, the rest of the lineup should be doing double the volume.

We'll see how things shake out once the FL G70 hits the lots and there is better selection for the G80 and G90, along with, hopefully, not being so stingy with incentives (not only compared to the Germans, but in particular, the Japanese).

The GV80 Prestige model is selling well while the other GV80 models seem to be on the lots a bit longer. Recently the GV80 available inventory is rising, maybe double locally.

Agreed. We were able to talk Genesis into sending us a truck load (i think it was 9) 3.5 Prestige models. They arrived on Friday. We sold 6 of them by close of business Saturday. Still have a hand full of lower trim levels sitting on the lot.

The "less desirable" GV80s still have a turn rate a good bit quicker than the industry avg. at around 28-30 days.

But yeah, with the 3.5 Prestige, we're probably talking half that many days (if not even fewer).

Korea - 13,890 (46,774 YTD)

G70 - 625
GV70 - 4,161
G80 - 6,009
GV80 - 2,321
G90 - 774

Stinger - 364
Mohave - 1,333
K9 - 412

Mercedes - 8,430
BMW - 6,113

Despite FL, G70 outsold by soon to be replaced G90 (while there may be some supply issues, doesn't sell better because the Korean market prefers roomier sedans); meanwhile, the G80 keeps chugging along at 6k/month.

GV70 sales have dropped a bit as some production capacity has been switched to produce for overseas markets.

GLE has replaced the S Class as the 2nd best selling Mercedes - think the impact the GV80 has had on the lux CUV market had something to do with that.

Australia (still only available in Sydney)
G70 – 4
G80 – 5
GV80 – 22

The FL IS has been smoking the G70 in sales in Canada and the US.

Even if taking into account the more generous incentives from Lexus, still too much of a discrepancy with what is an old model.

Total of 2,071 GV80s sold in NA.and Aus last month, so unless zero were sold in the Middle East and Russia, seems like Genesis is shipping out for export a little more than the 2k # they had stated.

Wonder what the allocation breakdowns will be when they start manufacturing for Europe and China.

Better yet, what is the factory capacity? Can’t keep up with demand in USA for G80 3.5T Prrdtige in popular colors

The Ulsan plant, where they are built, is the highest volume automobile plant in the world, last of my knowledge. I doubt it's at full capacity, and if it is, if they make more GV80s, they'll have to cut down on other Hyundai/Genesis models.

From what have heard, Ulsan is bursting at the seams.

Over the past few years Hyundai has added the Kona, Venue, Nexo, Palisade, G70, GV80, GV70, Ioniq 5 with more to be added.

Hyundai just announced that they will be investing billions in the US to build electrics; would not be surprised if we hear in the not to distant future that Hyundai will also be expanding production here to build certain Genesis models (namely the crossovers).

It's possible. From a quick search, I found that they are producing about 1.6 mil cars a year. Could not find info on what they are capable of. Accent production was moved to Mexico a few years ago. And Tucson production is split between the Alabama plant and the Ulsan plant, but mostly Alabama. We have 11 2022 Tucson's on our lot, and 10 were built in Alabama.

^ Yes, they did move some things from the Ulsan plant, with Ulsan production of the Tucson now mostly for Korea, AUS, NZ and a few other markets.

But that and the Accent probably don't even make up for just the 15k+ Palisades Hyundai is producing each month.

Hyundai was planning on building 10k Ioniq 5s in April, but that # has been cut by around 75% due to a lack of parts, including chips.
