Oil brand and oil consumption

Hey guys, anyone have oil burning? I'm burning half a quart every 2000 miles with amsoil 5w-30. I have since switch to Castrol Edge for GDI and Turbo, no oil burn yet as of 1100 miles, can anyone chime in?

I don't have any oil burning issues.

Doing some research, the oil you're using benefits engines that are both GDi & turbo. Of course, if it works continue to use it! But high mileage oils are specifically formulated for oil burning issues.

How many miles do you have and what is your location? I am burning a bit of oil (212k miles) myself.
I live in SC and as the weather is increasing I went up viscosity. 10w30w Full Synthetic Penzoil.
So far so good. Been running very smooth.

+1 to the high-mileage oil suggestion.

Also, stepping up a weight (increase viscosity) has helped many owners with oil burn issues, particularly in summer.

only 73k on my 2013...it only burn with Amsoil though, just switched to Castrol Edge and I was amazed that I havent burn anything 1400 miles in..the amsoil woul have been half a mark by now.

I'm just curious why there are such disparity between the two, and AMSOIL suppose to be the more expensive one.

I spoke too soon, I think it is consuming it, but slower rate, at 1500 miles now, will check around 2k again...does anyone know the dip stick measurement? from L to H is a quart or half a quart?

Hmm...that is strange...you have low miles...almost sounds like rings burning oil.
Try Syn Blend see what happens..I hate that you are going through this....

I ran Mobil1 in my '13 Rspec and had 1/4 quart consumption between oil changes. Now I run Rotella Gas truck 5w-20 with Liquid Moly MoS2 and have no consumption and runs smoother than ever!
