  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hyundai owner loyalty - now greater than Toyota and Honda

My wife is becoming a huge fan (the new Genny is hers.) I have a friend, who is on his 3rd Hyundai and swears by them, he has two Sonatas and a Sante Fe. I find myself adding Hyundai to the list of cars I shop for now. For example, I'm looking for a car for my son and added the Azera and Sonata to the list (that used to include Avalon and Accord.)

I traded my 2008 Dodge Dakota in for my Genesis Coupe 3.8GT. We gave my son the 2004 Elantra and my wife drives a 2009 Sonata GLS. There are now three Hyundai's in our driveway. And, I'd buy a Hyundai truck if they made one but only as long as it was in the small to mid-size range. I think a "Ranger sized" 4-cyl turbo diesel with more than ample amounts of HP and torque might sell well in this economy. Some of us don't really need a huge truck.

If a truck were to ever come out of HK. it would likely be a Kia; but Kia recently shelved their plans to bring over a truck version of the Borrego.

Due to import tariffs on trucks, it just isn't financially feasible for Kia, and Kia isn't likely to build another manufacturing plant in the US anytime soon.

I think also that CAFE would make it less likely for Hyundai or Kia to offer a light truck.
Exactly. Hyundai is now able to claim CAFE leadership in the US, and I assume that is because they don't import light trucks.

This post is NOT about the Genesis Sedan. It doesn't belong in the Genesis Sedan forum.
