  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2021/2022 Genesis G70 Sport or 2022 Kia Stinger GT2?

I say get the 2022 G70 3.3T AWD.

The newest stinger has more options now and a frameless review mirror 😁

Plus, if 300 HP is enough you can get the 2.5 in the stinger.... If you want to give up some shinier bits.

I had a 2021 Stinger GT1 AWD in that nerd grey and loved it. Had to get rid of due to a bad back injury and now have the new GV70 but I still think the Stinger looks better than the G70. It's a great car.

Here's a decent, detailed comparison of the 2022 G70 and Stinger GT2 (the driving part not so much), in similar trim. I didn't realize the Stinger actually costs a couple grand more now. I like it's looks and the extra room. The Stinger front end looks more aggressive, but the G70 looks classier overall IMHO.

SPORT SEDAN SHOWDOWN! -- 2022 Genesis G70 vs. 202…:
I love the quad exhaust on the Stinger, looks so damn sexy. Although, I think it would be out of place on the G70.

Why for the love of god the G70 doesn't have a frameless mirror is beyond me

I prefer analog gauges.
I think the USA gets two analog and a screen in the center for 2022 right? I’m a digital fan though.
Not sure on the 2022. I know the new, high end Kias, are all digital because you get the side camera view in the cluster when you tap the blinker.
I’m pretty sure. Picking up my Canadian 2022 in a few weeks and it’s half digital which is stupid IMO. I thought I saw a review where the USA has two analog gauges. Korea and Australia get full digital dashes.

IIRC, the 2022 has the RPM tach go backwards like the GV80.....just don't remember if it's analog or digi.

So I'll start by saying my previous car was a 2021 Kia Stinger GT AWD and I am now the proud owner of a 2022 G70 RWD w/ the sport prestige pkg. The reason I moved on so quick wasn't that I wasn't satisfied with the stinger but due to the fact that it ended up being a lemon(still in the final stages of buyback). Not going to trash the car itself as I absolutely loved it and think I just got that fluke vehicle with a crazy defect.
Now for the comparison which I'll keep quick unless someone wants something in greater detail. The Genesis drive just feels a little superior in everyway, especially in the handling department. The interior is not even a contest but it would probably much more appropriate to compare mine to a GT2 in that area. So my stinger did feel a bit quicker off the line but it was AWD compared to RWD. That being said I have had zero issues with grip so far even in sport+. Oh and as far as the leg room in the rear seating my kids said they couldn't tell the difference at all. The one area I will say the stinger has an advantage is the trunk and utility of the hatchback. I legit fit a 55" tv in the box in the back with the seats down. Not even going to try that in the G70.
When I bought my stinger price was definitely a factor but a lot has changed in the last 7 months and the price point has definitely narrowed. Like someone said earlier I believe the GT2 might even be more.
Oh and the main thing I would like to state above anything else is that Kia has horrible customer service. Everything was a fight with them and I mean everything. I'm still fighting for one or two things even after my stinger has not been able to start since 10 April and that's with Kia engineers involved.

OP is a few months old now but if you're still trying to decide (or someone else is), I went with the G70 after heavily comparing both. For me the G70 is better looking inside and out, driving is tighter and overall it felt better put together. The only reason to buy the Stinger over the G70 would be if you have a need for the trunk space (pretty sure it's double the cuft of the G70) or you will routinely drive around 4 adults who are on the taller side.

Well, I can tell you what I know. I had a Stinger, just got a G70. Love them both BUT to me they're very different. G70 is like the best 3 series you've ever driven, much more of a drivers car. The Stinger is nice for long road trips as it's character is more 'leisurely'. As for fit/finish, quality of materials, etc......G70 by a mile. The G70 , to me, is also the better buy.....

2022 will be the last year for the Stinger not sure if that figured into op’s decision or not.
