  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Changed my oil and filter on ramps and after I was done the car wouldn't start. Everything comes on normal, no error codes. It'll go to the ON position and I think I hear it crank but won't start the engine.

Not sure if there's some kind of safety mechanism in place? I have the right amount of oil in it I believe but cant get it off the ramps to get a more accurate reading on the dipstick. I've tried to add & remove a little oil to see if it's not letting me start due to too little or too much oil but still no start..

Anyone have some insight or what I can try to do?

Wiggle the battery terminals and see if it starts.

power comes on fine, radio, a/c and everything else functions as normal. no check engine or error codes either.

Did you unplug your computer from the wall or did you just push the power button on the monitor a couple of times? :ROFLMAO:

Seriously, the car will turn on and not start for any number of reasons. The chief reason is the battery terminals are loose. All the lights will come on and there will be no party.

You've got a finite list of possibilities with no error codes:
Loose battery terminal
Loose fuse box terminal
Loose starter terminal
Bad starter relay
Bad starter
Blown starter circuit fuse
Transmission selector switch error
Bad brake light switch

appreciate the list i'll start checking everything thanks

Start with the basics first. Like Suburbazine, check battery terminals first. Make sure there isn't any corrosion. If there is, you can clean it off with an old toothbrush and a paper towel.
Also, check to see if the shifter is all the way in park. Sometimes it doesn't go all the way in.
