I have a 2015 Ultimate 3.8 and have been wondering about a certain aspect of the navigation. I subscribe to Bluelink so whenever I want to put in a destination I just push the button on the mirror and it's sent to Google and the destination then appears on my screen. My pharmacy moved to a new location last week. Three days after they moved using Bluelink I put in the pharmacy name. I didn't think Google would update it so quickly but it had and the destination was sent to my screen.
My question is what if the pharmacy moved to a location that was not in the Genesis map database, or if any destination I requested was not in the Genesis map database. I assume Google would send the correct location of my search to the screen, but then when I would click the button to start the route what would happen since the Genesis would not have that particular street in it's database.
Even though the Genesis maps would not have that street in it's database I assume Google would. So when Google would send the destination to my screen would they also send the map info so the Genesis could display the street on the screen? I called up Hyundai the rep assured me that in fact if Google could find the destination then the street and directions would display on the screen regardless if the street wasn't in the Genesis database. I find that quite hard to believe and assume the rep was mistaken, but I'm curious as to what the opinion of the board is.
