  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2022 Launch Edition owner here.

I've had rust treatments on previous cars, but that totally ruined the engine bay with grease everywhere. I could not open the hood without having black marks on my hands. Same with the fuel door.

How will you protect your car over the years with our harsh winters?

As for the paint, anything else besides Dr. Beasley's matte paint coating?

Hey Wormbot, I just got the Verbier white launch edition and pretty much everything I’ve read says a ceramic coating is the best way to protect the matte finish. Sounds like it’s pretty pricey but definitely worth it. Take a look at this site for some more info:

Thanks alot for the info. I got the Dr. Beasley's matte paint coating, which is a ceramic nano coating. I'll apply this as soon as it gets delivered.

Tint World was where I first stopped and they were super careful. Its ceramic coated and PPF on front end.

During regular hand washes, I use Dr. Beasley’s matte coating maintenance wash kit.

Looks awesome!!

Does Canada make you keep the front license plate on?

I believe that in some provinces, you are allowed to have one plate at the rear. Here in Ontario, we need two unfortunately. It does ruin the front end.

That’s too bad. I flat out refuse to put it on the front. I’m in Washington state where they don’t really care and you can file for an exemption but gonna hold off doing that till I get pulled over lol.

I’ve had corrosion free done twice without it being too messy. The 2nd time I had it done at an auto detailer, so they were more meticulous and careful with spraying so perhaps do that?
Rust proofing is pretty much a requirement unless you’re in AB where they use sand or BC where snow is nonexistent

Edit: caveat is if you don’t plan on keeping the car longer than 6 years, don’t waste money rust proofing. If ownership is 6+ years, definitely treat it.

Is your PPF just to the side fender front lines?

It’s the full front end, including the A-pillars. I’ve attached a snippet from the website. Checkout the Supreme selection.

Not contributing anything to this convo other than I'm jealous of anyone with the launch edition. Bought a 2021 cuz I was told the launch edition wasn't coming to Canada and now here we are. Enjoy, they are very sexy.

Experience manager said there were only 3 left in Canada when I put a deposit on it. I guess I was very lucky.

I totally love it, but I'm a bit nervous with the paint in the winter.

I just finished applying Dr. Beasley's Matte Paint Coating. I hope it holds up in the long run.

Yeah I had rust protection done at a Jiffy Lube and it got this horrible gunk all over my engine bay, it started to accumulate on places and leaking out of the hood and into the side of the car, the worse crap ever.
