  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Thought on these? As part of the negotiation process the dealer included a third party (Protective Asset Protection) 10 yr/100K warranty. This is a wrap policy, which as I understand it, does not cover anything included in the Genesis 10 yr 100K engine and drivetrain warranty. Price quoted was $3000/120 months. Zero cost to me and I did verity the contract is live and legit. Since there is no chance I would keep the GV70 (or any new car) past the 5/60 manufacturer warranty I've never considered or purchased an extended warranty. These are supposedly fully transferable. The problem as I see it is that the Genesis 10/100K warranty is not transferable so this policy in effect only covers everything else. 3K seems pretty steep for that but maybe not.

Should I assume this is a decent value added item in terms of resale or trade in value? Anybody have any dealings with Protective Asset?

Be wary of third party warranties. The love disclaiming repairs or going out of business. Often times an extended warranty through hyundai is cheaper but slimy dealers push the third parties because they make more money on them. Note you can buy the warranty from ANY hyundai dealer after your purchase the car. If you dont plan on keeping the car dont buy the warranty. You will never make your money back on it.
