I have a Cadenza with that electric power steering setup (and my daughter has a Sonata), but the G80 I have has an entirely different electric power steering setup. In the case of the Genesis, the power steering motor is down on the rack, not inside on the steering column. Have a look at yours to see what you have.It may be from a worn rubber/plastic steering bushing/coupler.
The issue is pretty common on other Hyundai and KIA models with electric steering; so it may be an issue on our cars as well.

I really do not want to have a clinking steering wheel. The 2018 service manual I have shows the same. It shows the motors that adjust the memory tilt and telescope features of the steering wheel on the column and the motor that gives steering power assist on the rack. Do you have any documentation otherwise?

eBay. This isn't the one I purchased, but it's the one that is listed right now. (I can't say if this one is good or not.)Where'd you dig up a G80 service manual?
Yeah, and the dealer replaced 2 clock springs since 2018. Yet the sound is there.Like this...
