  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi. I have a 2015 V6 technology trim in Canada. My power liftgate has suddenly started to malfunction. It gets stuck halfway while opening and then I am forced to push it manually to open in full. While closing sometimes it work normally but sometimes it goes only halfway. Then pressing the button again makes it close. Did anyone else have this problem? I'm guessing this may be an expensive fix at the dealer. Thanks

Assuming your speaking of the trunk lid,

Might try disconnecting one of the battery cables for a minute or two and then reconnecting it....know new owners have been warned not to close the trunk manually if at all possible....Use the power buttons.

I just checked the open and close switch. It looks perfect with no wear or damage on it and the rubber looks almost new.

The first time I had this issue was just after I was driving in the worst rain of the season and almost right after when I opened the trunk it happened the first time. I did notice that one of the arms (right side one) which fold into the trunk had some water drops on it. Just wondering if water got inside and messed up the electronics. Do you think that's possible?

You didn’t look at the entire thread did you? If you go through the entire thread and look at the pictures that we posted you will see that on the right side at the elbow the wires are prone to breaking. Go through the entire thread and look at our pictures and you will see what I’m talking about

You can fix it with about $10 worth of materials if in fact that is your problem
