Is Liquid Glass wax?

and to answer the original question. LG is not a wax it is a Paint Sealant. I use a couple of different PS's and the results look better than traditional wax and take a fraction of the time to put on, IMHO.

In this case, should I use a Clay Bar each time before I put on another coat of LG?

I used Clay Bar before I put on my first two coats of LG on my Genesis. The result was awesome! After 3 weeks, the car still looks awesome. However, when I slide my hand on the hood, I can feel a little tiny bit of grits.

I worry about if I put another cost of LG on it, that will "seal" the grits in between.

Should I worry about this? Thoughts?

The body shop where I got my car fixed said I should get a clay bar. Are you guys using it over the entire car or just areas that need it? Also, does it leave any residue behind or look like you just put something on your car?

I'm assuming if you use the clay bar, you'll need to wax or polish?

I obviously don't know a lot about it.

I use it on certain areas of the car, although I should use it on the whole car. I'm just too lazy. The clay bar will strip all the wax off the paint and the inpurities, so you'll need to wax the car after the clay baring.

I use clay bar on the entire car body. Don't forget to use it on your windows too.

Yes, make sure you wax it or Liquid Glass it right after using the clay bar.

Did anyone use Liquid Glass with a orbital buffer? The directions say to use a cloth and wipe on in a horizontal motion.

I've used it twice, (easy to do), and followed the directions as stated... 'apply with horizontal strokes', and I assumed they worded it that way for a reason. I can't figure out why, because all other products say in a 'circular motion.' Also you want to use the product sparingly... more isn't really better in this case, especially with such a pricy product. The bonnett on the orbital will probably soak up half the can before you even get started, and maybe, just maybe, this might be too strong of a chemical solution to be using machinery during it's application. Applying it by hand was soooo effortless (after the prep stage). It worked great on my rims too (TSW chromies... check out the photo album under my name above). The "Kit" comes with 1/2 pint of product, equal amounts of their recomended "Prep" (hiqh quality polish) and applicators & towels. I'd use the orbital buffer with the polish.... that will save a lot of elbow grease, but the final Liquid Glass should be done sparingly. Photos in my album didn't capture the depth or shine it has in real life. However, one of the photos show a nice reflection of trees & sky on my hood. I've used a lot of products over the decades, and I am very please with my results so far. P.S. I typed in Liquid Glass in Google search, found a few places offering it, but AutoGeeks.net gave the best selection and prices. Ordered it on a Sunday, had it for the weekends application.

Are you suggesting using an orbital buffer to buff the polish once it has set instead of using, lets say a microfiber towel?

Using an orbital buffer is absolutely overkill. Liquid Glass is something you just wipe it on and whip it off. Done

I shouldn't have used the word 'buffer', what I meant to say is use the orbital to apply to polish with the orbital's terrycloth bonnet, and let the machine do it's thing...using minimal downpressure. It saves your energy. The prep / polish removes fine scratches, cleans and removes the wax which must be removed prior to Liquid Glass application... (they claim, for best results). Let the machine do the work. Applying heavy presure can ruin our clear coat... but I tell ya, you really have to over do it to cause damage. They give micro fiber cloths in the kit... I never used them. I have found that soft terrycloth towels remove the products easier. I can get both hands on the towel with one hand following up behind the other. These products really rub off easily too! My car was only 40 - 50 days old when I did it so I didn't even consider using my orbital machine. Doing it manually was just fine. Enjoy the sparkle!

What is the application for the pre cleaner.... I tried finding directions but couldn't. Is it just a concentrate that you mix with water and wash the car?

I had the same questions. I feel I still don't know if Liquid glass actually protects the car like a wax, or if it just shines it up........................

In my opinion, I think it protects far better than wax, especially as you build up multiple coats. I have use this product for almost 20 years. I always do a coat before winter comes on, and, my car is still beading up water come spring. I have never had a wax protect as long as Liquid Glass. It is the only product I use.

Fellow Genesis Owners:
Keep it simple.
Use the Liquid Glass with LXR and your car will shine like you've never seen it shine. Once a year with Liquid Glass. Super easy on and off.
LXR, every hand wash with Liquid Glass Car Wash.
Been doing it this way on several cars for years and it works perfectly. Nothing better. I've tried them all.
Period. Trust me. Save the paralysis of analysis!
