  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My tail lights won't turn off, so I disconnected the battery in the trunk last night.
Now I cannot get into the trunk.
How do I open the trunk of my 2009 Genesis 4.6?

Did you try your metal key to open the trunk?

Welcome. Moved this topic into our first generation Genesis Sedan forum...

Use the manual (metal) key. Remove it from the fob (silver button). There's a key slot above the license plate.

Thank you that worked.

The only way I can open the trunk now is with the metal key. The fuse is fine. Do you know why I can't open it with the key fob? I can't even use the hand opener on the right side above the license plate. 2012 Genesis

Bad (broken) wire, bad solenoid, bad electronic module...
Troubleshooting is required.
