Power Trunk/Liftgate

Anybody have a video of how this actually works ?? .. Some guy was telling me it is simply a pop up trunk.. but that sounds WAY off..

A video of the motor opening the trunk? I can tell you my opening is fully motorized. I stand next to the trunk for 2 seconds and it opens. Press the button it closes. I can hold the trunk button on the dash in and close it from inside the car. I’d do a video for you but I have to have a buddy of mine use his you tube account to load it for posting so it’s sort of a PITA. I like the opening feature of my G70.

Yeah, what year of the car are we discussing. The 2019 had no power trunk. I think the 2020/2021 did and then looks like they killed it again for 2022....

The power release on the 22 is as good as being motorized. It opens completely by button or automatically standing behind the car (if selected in setup). The only real difference is that the lid has to be closed and latched by hand. IMO, it really works just fine.

That bites. Genesis is trying to save $19.00 on a motor I guess. Really odd how they give and take away options and have different Korean options altogether? Just itemize everything and let us pick and order what we want. I remember when I had a Ford and Pontiac and special ordered everything just fine back in the day.

Yeah. I was really disappointed that they left off the 3D cluster in the Sport Prestige. That was the big miss for me. Also no heating or cooling in the rear seats like other markets.

My salesman told me (as did Joe Raiti on his "Raiti's Rides review) that the back seat room was a little tight. My reply - "good! I don't want to have to drive every time we are all going to lunch"! I loved driving an RX-8 for 9+ years, if there was more than 1 passenger, I didnt have to drive.

Lack of heated/vented seats is perfect!

Also, can you still easily pull it down by hand if you want to? I know some power systems dont like when you "override" them.

It’s not available any longer. An you can pull it down but I never need to.

Your car is 2019, or this kit was made for a 2019 and you added it to a 21/22?

It’s not available any longer. An you can pull it down but I never need to.

Are there any instructions available anywhere? I just want to gage how difficult this is.

On the 2020/2021 The power trunk came with the Prestige and Sport packages

In Canada it is available on 2022 models. Some youtuber claims it was due to supply constraints.
