  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What do you think the chancer are of the G70 receiving the new smartstream 3.5 engine? It would be a HUGE upgrade in my opinion. No more chancers of carbon buildup. The one thing holding me back. GDI engines have already starting being fazed out. Toyota has been doing it for years. Ford is doing it. Some Kia and Hyundai vehicles have already started using the new technology. Every Genesis vehicle accept the G70 are using it. MPI + GDI is the future.

Any thoughts?

Personally, I think there is no point. The 3.3 isn't lacking in capability, it's under tuned. Genesis is just very lightly boosting it and holding back with the TCU to limit drivetrain wear. In terms of carbon build up, it takes a lot of miles on these motors to actually impact performance and cleaning them doesn't seem to be a big deal. The other part is that ICE is the past, so the next G70 will likely be electric.

Just perplexed as to why they would update all the Genesis Vehicles except for g70. Why use old technology on a brand you are trying to build.

The G70 will not get the 3.5TT until it gets the new chassis.
