What’s an AON number?

I’m waiting on my GV80 to deliver. My salesperson has sent me the window sticker but the VIN is actually an AON. Is that an internal VIN number?

The AON the production number assigned to a vehicle before it is assigned a VIN. The VIN will bring up the AON, but the AON will not bring up the VIN.
