  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This is my first Hyundai product, and I love it! Living with the GV70 on a daily basis has been a real joy. The one thing that bugged me the most was the Michelin Primacy Tours. Hard cornering, and I could feel the side wall collapsing. So after 800 miles it was time replace them.

I told my local Les Schwab I was in the market for some Ultra High Performance All Season tires, and they recommended these. Plus, they offered me $200.00 trade in for the Michelin’s, and another 10% off! So it was a great deal and I love them!

They are just as quiet and stable at high speeds as the Michelins, but as soon as weight is transferred laterally, these babies shine!

I haven’t driven in the rain or snow yet, but it’s coming, so I’ll post an update.

So far, it’s a great first mod for my ride. Highly recommended.

Your oem tires were worth at least a thousand. Too bad genesis doesn't have a summer tire option on new gv70s

I’ve run the ExtremeContact DWS on quite a few cars. They’re great but for those who live in areas where certain highways require all-season tires to have the snowflake symbol or the M+S designation for winter months, these don’t meet that requirement. Great tires though.

Those Continental ExtremeContacts are not available in 21s, right?

Here’s a link to the brochure which lists available sizes.

You could put some 18’s on with 255/50/18 size tires and the circumference would be the same 29”‘s as the 21’s.

My first drive in the rain was today, and I’m impressed! This is a fantastic rain tire, with tons of traction & grip. I can really put the power down in the wet with these. So far, I’m really enjoying the improved driving dynamics with these tires! Highly recommended if you don’t require tires with the mountain symbol/snow flake.

They’re the identical size 235/55/19’s that came on the car OEM.

I'm going to look into those when it comes time for new tires.

The DWS tires are pretty popular and well regarded. I have P Zero summer tires on 19" rims on my Veloster N. I bought a set of Rial Lucca 18" rims with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires as a second set. This last winter I had the car up on four jacks stands with my Genesis Coupe in the driveway with a set of Winter Force 2 tires on it. I do detect road noise from the GV70 OEM tires which I do not like. My Pilots are quiter than the P Zeros, obviously. I do like reading about other options and opinions from other owners.

Man 3150... Ugh I am thinking I'll have to do the same thing but I hadn't checked the prices yet... We'll see I guess

Interesting, Genesis Canada offers 2 levels of winter wheels (rims+tires), 18" for C$2300 and 19" for C$2850 (x75% for US$). People often drop a size for winter tires and I guess if you have 21" 40% profile you'd want one of these. The only way I know to see them is to build a car, so below is a screen capture to show it's true. :)

It looks like TireRack doesn't offer rims for the GV70, but you can spec the GV70 on www.1010tires.com (Canadian) which starts at <C$1600 (U$1200) for a set of 4 wheels (19" Falken tires). I have no idea how good they are (I assume U$1200 gives a clue), have done no research, I'm hoping not to need winter tires on my GV70. :)

$3150 sounds excessive but maybe it's something special.

I went down a size for the winter tires on my Gen Coupe. This was mostly for pothole protection. I went down to the 18" Rial rims on my Veloster for the same reason. I have found that you can go down one size.

I also went down a size on both my current and previous vehicles. I actually bought the "styled steel rims" from the base model, they were only slightly more expensive than decent steel rims with bullet holes around, and the larger spaces were a positive.

Base model GV70 comes with 18" alloy rims, so it's easy enough to get the specs and to know you're not going outside the limits. :)

Well, I did not take a lot of time, and not many places have wheels in their system yet. Size, offset etc seems standard. On my WRX this was well worth the extra cost. Hoping they can all fit inside for trips to dealership for yearly swap. I have been doing the WRX in driveway.

my ordered version comes with 21s, and I am certainly not trying to run those during winter months with or without adaptive suspension. I can justify 19’s and upsize tire profile but have not compared prices. Thinks 20s is happy balance

On the contrary I'm glad my leased GV70 S/P came with the Primacy's and not the stickier summer only tires. Primacy's are rated for more miles and are a great tire. Unless your driving at 8/10ths all the time in the corners they are fine. And I guarantee they are going to be better in the wet and snow.
