  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey y'all. New guy here. Any success with the 3rd light gasket fix? Just cleaned up all the dried up gasket from the back seat. I'm thinking door insulation. Thoughts?

Welcome! Moving this to our second generation Genesis Sedan section. :)

I recommend to replace the whole light with new rubber. search the forum for the diy parts and guidance.

There's been a couple discussions about this, most recently today on the What did you do with your DH Today thread. One person used black gorilla tape and others have used 3M adhesive strip, including me. I'll try to take a pic tomorrow am.

After looking at this for the first time in at least a few months, I could've trimmed the right and left edges better and I'll probably go back and clean it up, but the straight flat area is holding up fine. There's plenty of room so if you choose to stick something up there, you won't have to extend past the black strip on the rear window and you will not see anything when looking at the rear window from the outside.

Thx for the pick. It appears you simply placed the strip right OVER the gap vs INSIDE the gap, correct?
