  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When I power my car on it sometimes complete shuts off and all power cuts off. I thought it was the battery so I had that changed . Then I thought it was the recent recall and that was also fixed but it continues to lose complete power at random times . Is anybody with a 2016 Hyundai Genesis dealing with this same issue ?

Yes, I had a simular issue. When I would push the start/stop button to shut it off it would do the same thing, complete power failure, no lights, nothing. After a few minutes everything wouild come back. Well one time it didn't come back on so I took some voltage readings with my digital muliter meter and the voltages read around 3 volts under the hood, so I did a direct reading on the battery terminal and it was over 12 volts. I took the neg and positive terminals off and cleaned them up really good ( a little corrosion) and the problem was solved. The battery terminals on these cars are not the best, so you have to make sure you have a good connection. I believe that my problem was there since new, but had progressively gotten worse.
Good luck,
Bill

I had this issue as well. Another member posted on here that the terminals on american batteries are a little smaller in diameter then the european batteries. this causes the plastic positive terminal box on the battery to actually move even when the positive terminal is tight. You will find you can take some cardboard and fold it up and wedge it under the lower left corner of the battery box. Just lift it up a little and wedge the cardboard under it. Voila! Problem fixed. You may have to adjust every once in a while. It used to happen to me 2-3 times a week. Now it happens maybe once a month. Hope that helps!
