I know that I've seen comments on this but nothing helpful comes uo in Search. My '13's screen has started flickering when the backup camera is activated. Any help?

The camera is on it's way to complete failure. Corrosion kills it, poor choice in materials for the camera unfortunately. I have a stand alone backup cam in mine, it was cheaper than replacing the OEM cam.

Thanks! I think I found the problem. I removed the trunk emblem and plugged the two holes with plastic plugs while deciding to replace with a 2015 wing or just go with the plugs(look like sensors). I removed the plugs to do some measuring and then events caused me to not get around to replacing, So...... rain, snow etc.

Fair enough. Truth be told though, the cameras corrode from the top and fires the little board near the lens. My guess is, it's in a path for drainage and obviously can't handle it. I've thought about wiring my 3rd party cam to the OEM wiring so it displays on the dash but I'm too lazy now to figure it out lol

It's back!! I sprayed a couple of gallons of WD-40 through the two emblem mounting holes and....

Really? My backup cam went dark 2 years ago and have just been dealing with it. I also replaced the rear emblem with wings years ago. Wonder if I can get mine working again!

My camera wasnt working when I got mine. I fixed it by getting to the harness. Its routed in the trunk right hand side hinge. The wire tends to stretch and snap that was the case for mine I added a little bit of wire and it works perfect now.

Floor wiring harness

We are at 61k miles on our 2015 sedan and unfortunately our rear camera stopped working. The dealer took a look and said the floor wiring harness 'wore out from opening/closing of the trunk' and it will cost $5k to repair. I'm curious if this is bad luck (just out of warranty) or bad design...

How hard was it to take a part the trunk lid, to get to the camera, I have 2012 Genesis

The rear panel, b/u lamps, license plate need to come off. A lot of plastic clips that will probably break. The camera is mounted to the rear plastic panel. License lamps can stay in, along with the button for trunk lid. I removed the lock cylinder and several 10mm head nuts and bolts.

To do the camera, you're going to need some real small phillips head screwdrivers. Do a search on You Tube. A couple of them are very good at showing the process.
