  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The Hyundai Genesis has had a lot of positive speculative press, and there are a lot of journalists anxious to get behind the wheel of the rear-wheel-drive sedan from South Korea. A quick check of the Genesis stat sheet shows that Hyundai is delivering an awful lot of luxury and performance for what promises to be a very low price, but at least one South Korean journalist isn't all that impressed. After the jump is a seven-minute review of the Genesis sedan that absolutely trashes the South Korean Domestic Market sedan in its native tongue.

The reviewer liked the acceleration from the 3.3L V6 and we agree that it sounds great, but from there things get ugly. The Genesis sedan had too much body roll, its driving characteristics were far from dynamic, the brakes were mushy and the tires struggled to grip the road even when they weren't being pushed that hard. The on-camera reviewer summed up the Genesis by saying that luxury equipment does not a luxury vehicle make. We're hoping the Genesis is far better than this reviewer's description, but we won't know until we get behind the wheel to judge for ourselves. Thanks for the tip, Bobae!

Well, the video isn't playing for me. I don't know if it is my s***ty computer, but.... Well, Hyundais and Kias are known for selling less than perfect version in home, and exports the far superior version to North America, you never know, also, it can be different from person to person. A person who does not care about the features, drivetrain, power, and only cares about the style, price, there will be some customers who will buy no matter what if they find the car attractive enough and have enough dough. If a person is picky, and if he/she sees all those areas as top priority in car buying, they will trust the reviews 100% and shop elsewhere.

To me, I don't even give a darn to all those reviews, since, when it comes to buying cars, it's all depend on what you need, and what you want. To me, my top priorities are price, style, size, and origin(it HAS to be North American designed and built), I don't even care about drivetrain, nor power as long as I can get an American made, resonably priced, large sedan. But, as I said, personal taste can all be different.

Hey, look back to 1980s, when Yugoslavian made Yugos sold here for less than $4,000. It was a tiny, excuse as a cheap car, that got chewed upon many times, yet, they DID sell, to so many Americans who didn't have enough money and didn't care, and the fact that, they too could have a brand new car.

It's not you. I don't see the video either. I'd like to see it.. And you're right - I do remember hearing that Hyundai builds their vehicles better for the U.S.

Personally, I don't care if the ride is soft on the Genesis Sedan. I think it 'should' be that way. Leave the firm ride for the Coupe.
