  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis App - Car Finder

Could be a nice accessory like a dash cam.

I read this morning where the Tesla camera got a driver out of a ticket for not using a turn signal. He went to the camera and it showed his light blinking in the reflection of a pickup in front of him. Took the video to court.
I would like to just check the surroundings sometimes. More like a baby monitor lol.

You may be on to something. Duct tape a baby monitor to the grill. Spray paint it with touch up so it is blended in and not noticed. This could be a great aftermarket product.

I tried car finder today. Car was deep in a parking garage, level 3 of 7, middle of structure. Repeated attempts show it at my home address. Checking car status gave an update with current time. Is it the sheltered impervious concrete location?

Look at the benefit. If you ever want to start a stolen car ring you know a good spot to stash them.

it doesn't automatically update from what I can tell, you have to double tap the car icon in the lower left corner of the task bar, and then it will ask for your PIN then it will update.

edit. Adding image. Car image far right.

In “car finder” I had to tap car icon in middle of screen at cached location. This gave me the option to “forget this location”. I tap forget, then tap car at bottom right of screen, login with numeric code and after ten seconds there it is.
An additional two steps. Now I know.

The app got an update today - Now you have a quick lock button on the home page of the app. This update broke my genesis connect services, had to delete the app, reinstall and log back in. works okay now. seemed a bit faster than usual.

Here's the Andriod update screen. Looks like they added a Quick Start, too, and biometrics to the widget.

Is there a limit to how many times you can use the car finder in a day?
I don't see why they'd limit that, it's just using the GPS to locate the car using the app, you are already paying for the subscription.

Someone did have a limit on the number of starts, I think it was 20. Yes, you are paying for the service but there is a limit to the capacity of the servers that run the programs every time you use it. You are using the servers and the wireless connections they pay for.
