  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey yall, it's been a whe but I'm back in another genesis! 2009 4.6 this time. Miss my R spec bit this one's nice too, I just love these cars.

Anyway, I popped for a p0420 code, which is for bank 1, I just can't find a firing order or any info detailing which is which, I'm assuming 1 is passenger? The car runs fine so I'm gonna try the upstream 02 and go from there.

Also, I noticed a bit of delamination of the leather on the dash, otherwise it's in great shape and I got a hell of a deal on it so I don't mind putting money into it. Any ideas for a fix on this one? Most upholstery shops won't touch it. Thanks!

The 2009 V8 Tau engine firing order, according to chapter 2 "Engine Mechanical" page 1 table is:
1-2-7-8-4-5-6-3

Bank 1 is the passenger side.

I think the cylinder numbering is
1-3-5-7 front-to-back on the passenger side,
2-4-6-8 front-to-back on the driver side.
The factory service manual doesn't actually show this info - at least I haven't found it.

Actually, after much digging I was able to find it in another thread. I thought passenger side is generally bank 1 on most cars from what I've experienced, I appreciate it!!
