  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I received my GV70 in June and absolutely love this vehicle! However, there is one thing that has been driving me crazy! After the first 3 months, the SiriusXM free trial ended and now every time I turn the car on, this SiriusXM marketing popup comes onto the screen and stays until I click Hide or Close. Sometimes it even re-appears after I click Hide or Close. It is incredible annoying to have to see this multiple times a day. Also, this popup seems to clog up the normal head up start features and can cause the screen to take additional time to load the backup camera or radio functions because it is open this popup. I have posted about this in a few forums and people have sent some suggestions to try and pointed to a thread in the G90 forum however none of these have worked. Does anyone have a credible solution to getting rid of this message?

Signing up for a subscription seems to be the only way. Such is the force play in our mode world.

I had the same problem. Once my real subscription started and I removed channel 1 from the list of my stations it was gone

You now pay for SiriusXM? I think the issue persists for those that are not paying for SiriusXM moving forward.

It's a force pay. I'm sure Hyundai cut a back-door deal to keep that prompt coming up. Welcome to 2021. The year of the scam.

Does it pop up even if you are on the AM or FM band?

I pay for it and use it for many commercial free hours a month so no pop-ups. You can call and get better prices if you are interested.

Oh, I also listen for free at home making it a better deal.

You don’t have to pay full price for Sirius XM. It’s easy to chew them way down. You should be able to get a years service for under $60 a year. Never give them a credit card to hold on file. They will do a one time CC charge and then remove the card but you have to ask for such and be insistent. Each year I call to cancel, play their pricing games until I get back down to about $5.00 a month. The kicker is never allow them to hold a CC on file or at next renewal they will stick you for a full service price.

@pulsar Yup - I played that game for a while and I appreciate you giving others that insight. However, I don’t want SiriusXM. I’m fine with FM and Spotify through Bluetooth/CarPlay. If the only option to remove this ad is to pay $60/yr, that is absolutely bull shit.

Hey fellow Columbusite! Did you find your GV70 locally? I’m waiting on mine to arrive at Genesis of Dublin, latest ETA is 12/26.
Yup - that’s where I got mine. First one in Ohio back in June!

Nice! I’ve still yet to see a GV70 in the wild. Seen a small handful of GV80’s including a maroon one last Saturday on 315. I have a deposit down for a silver 2.5 Select. I’m in Clintonville.

Awesome - I will keep an eye out for you. I have only seen 1 other GV70 and that was in Detroit.. I have a 3.5 Prestige Vik Black - absolutely love it so far! Incredible car minus this damn SiriusXM spam popup. The dealer, Dennis, has been pretty decent but as many others have already talked about, it is not a high class experience. Both times I have been there, people had no idea what they were doing and didn't know what to do with my car since it was a Genesis and not a Hyundai. Overall, not miserable but certainly not high end. I am going to try to plan farther in advance for my next service and try to get the service where they pick my car up and leave me a loaner for the day. My past two I was on a time crunch and they didn't have any availability.

Last night I was running errands and noticed the popup notification didn't happen. Each time I started the car (had multiple stops) no popup. Anyone else experience this yesterday?

Mine went away after I did the trick to tune to a station other than one and then switch to another band quickly before it jumps back to station one. I haven't seen the popup in weeks.

I want to be sure that I understand what you mean, since my trial subscription will expire in a few days.

1. Change to the SiriusXM tuning screen.
2. Select any station other than channel 1.
3. Immediately change to FM or AM tuner.

Is this correct?

Basically, yes.

I tuned to XM channel 0. Turned the car off while it was still on channel 0 (don’t wait for it to flip back to channel 1). Turn the car on and then change to FM or AM quickly and haven’t seen the message since. So much nicer not seeing that damn ad.

I've been playing around with this and still testing but I removed all SirusXM favorites from my listings and so far that seems to work

I can't wait to try this! I've removed all my SiriusXM channels/favorites from my listing, have searched everywhere and tried everything and nothing has worked yet. I really hate Sirius for this insistent/annoying/intrusive marketing ploy. I will never subscribe to shit piece of _____!!!
