How to extract mechanical key?

I was hoping the MK would be spring loaded and pop out. Tried to pop off the back cover but nothing works.
What's the trick to extracting it (and changing the battery).

That little button right there. Push it in, pull out the key.

That button right there on side of the key. Push in while pulling the bottom section of key where that key ring is located
