  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

3.5L V6 GV80 tune up

I see Burger is now working on the 3.5 in the GV70. Does this mean they have everything worked out for the 3.5 in the GV80?

I installed the jb4 V4 for my gv80 3.5 today! Definitely a noticeable increase in power! There are only 2 maps available to use right now until they get a CANbus update worked out. I also purchased the Bluetooth wireless adapter. And it works well so far with my Note20. You can only see Boost and Map on App until the CANbus update. Roughly 40 HP gain the way it is now I'm told. Around 80HP after Update.

I’m assuming one of the maps is for 93 octane?

Says to run higher octane to get the full potential of the tunes. I'm running 93.
Map 1 is (4 psi over stock boost)
Map 2 I'm not 100% sure, definitely over 4psi.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
My initial thoughts…this engine should be capable of near 500 HP. I would not be surprised after the tune is sorted out to see an additional 80-100 HP possible running 93 octane.

I think the jb4 will work with the gv80. I don't see why it wouldn't. but supporting mods might need to be created for more power. like the burger tuning intakes. they were made for the stinger and work with the g70 but as far as I know they don't fit the g80. so there will probably need to be some modification to that to work.

so my guess is an easy 50hp or so with only the jb4 but it might take some time for supporting mods to be made to use stronger maps. the jb4 works will the g70, g80, g90. so I don't see why the gv70 or gv80 would be any different.

if enough people are interested the mods will come. this discussion is a good start.
Can’t wait too tube up my GV80

Looks like CANbus is updated now and there are 4 maps now.

i am interested in a tune if it doesn't roast the warranty

What does map 4 entail? I see something on Burger’s site about e85, but the 3.5T cannot run anything more than e15 (unless I’m mistaken).

No Map 4.
1, 2, 3
3 runs nice. Needs more boost though. Map3 is roughly 4psi over stock
So what was the highest boost at map0 you saw versus map3 highest boost level? Looks like the maps are map0, map1, map2 and map3 where map0 is factory setting?

Has anyone considered unleashing the stock 375 horses of the Genesis 3.5L twin-turbo V6 ? it seems that Genesis is holding them down to smooth the luxury experience (which the car is designed for, it's not a BMW X5 M competition). However, the car could use some more power with adequate suspension and maybe gearbox tuning, especially for straight-line acceleration. Comments?
I’m trying the JB4 tuning. It gives you a couple of horse power without damaging the warranty.

Have someone tried the JB4 already in the GV80 3.5tt?

It’s there any video for installation in GV80. Can’t wait to install mine. 🙏🏼

I couldn't find anything on installation either. I installed mine this morning though. Took me way longer than the website said it would😂, but I spent a lot of time figuring out where to mount it. Probably a whole pot of coffee as well! I ended up wrapping mine in electrical tape and zip tying it to the cross bar by the master cylinder. Hopefully the tape keeps it from rubbing through the aluminum bar.

My unit is shipping today. Would you consider posting some post installation pics and tips?

Ive been having misfire issues in maps 2 & 3. I gapped the stock plugs down to 0.022". Helped a little but still misfiring at top end. Gonna need to find colder plugs.

I follow this thread on JB4 updates to the 3.5 T. In this thread, the engine is in the GV70, but it should be similar. Kia 3.5L JB4 Development - N54Tech.com - International Turbo Racing Discussion
Motor in gv70 3.5t is the same as the gv80 3.5t.
But the stock plugs can NOT handle the additional heat from the extra boost In Maps 2 & 3. But trying to find the correct colder plugs
To replace the OE plugs is harder than I thought. Especially if changing them could possibly void my 100,000 warranty.
