  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Request to the admins, now that almost every model of Genesis (except SUVs) is in their 2nd(or 3rd) generation can we please have forums by generation?

I would soon be an owner of 2016 G80/ Genesis however inside the G80 forum most of the latest threads are about the 2nd gen or 3rd if you count the Hyundai Genesis and it becomes quiet tricky to find the relevant information.

Almost every other car forums have Subforums this way so this request is not unique.

Thanks

That would be this one

Now getting everyone to only post in that forum is another matter. Of course, some information is relevant across models. Now where did you find a 2016 G80? See the problem?

Thanks, but that's another problem, what about the 2017-2020 being in same sub forum as the 2021s?

Ideally all Gen2 should be in same place which means all 2015 to 2020 irrespective of whether they were sold as Hyundai or Genesis should be in same forum section. Since they are not people just post into the G80 forums as its the same car only the badges changed in 2017

I’m cold on the idea. Besides, “almost every other car forum does it” is untrue.

Genuinely curious which car forum doesn't have generation based sub forum, I have been on Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Acura, Lexus, Mustang(they have a full forum for 6th gen not just a sub forum) and all of them have generation based subforums.

Okay, here's one.
LoL that's why I said almost besides thanks for sharing this as I never knew that a single forum for 2 different makers exists, this is indeed interesting.

Anyways if that's the way most folks feel then so be it.

Sorry, but we can’t even afford Genesis dealerships.

Are you really going to buy a ‘16? Can you make do without the Bluelink services like remote start. We can’t afford those anymore.

Funny that you mention remote start, first Bluelink was not an option in Canada and 2nd I have got the dealer to add a remote starter at their cost as part of the deal :)

What has these got to do with creating sub forums, I am not sure. Unless you are part of the owner/ moderation team and are talking about the associated costs to create subforums, which again makes no sense as I have an idea on how forums software works.

Last I looked we already have sub-forums here. I think the site layout is great.

Then you clearly haven't understood my ask and that's ok, to each their own :)

LOL I am actually old enough to remember that movie

When you get around to it, be sure to visit the ‘15/‘16 Genesis sub-forum.

I am ok with the forums the way they are now, but I would like to see a requirement that the poster be required to fill in year, model, and engine they are talking about. I know some of the young people can remember the information of most of the posters so giving the information is not important. But some of the older members have a hard enough time remembering what we have.(Well me anyway.)

Good idea! I can remember mine with no prob but it really helps to know what model, year, engine, etc. other owners are referring to when they state an issue. It would allow much faster, more accurate replies, too.
