  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

After 7 days away from my 2022 G70 connected services for monitoring the car disconnected because car hadn’t started. I auto started car and had someone turn it off for me. But the actual visual on car has and lock status with image isn’t updating. What else do I need to do?

Figured it out won’t connect through auto starting the car. Must start the car and rev the engine.

You have to start the car with the fob. IIRC it is four days and goes dormant. How did the person that turned it off for you gain entry?

I gave the person helping me the key let them start the car and run the engine.

The fob uses the electronics in the car. I don't know if using the key instead matters.

To me, "fob" means the remote for the doors/trunk/panic. "Key" can mean a mechanical key, or a smart key. To that end, I feel like the Genesis (like many cars now) doesn't really have a "fob." It has a smart key that also serves the function of a fob. It seems like most of the time when someone here says the key or says the fob, they are referring to the smart key in either case.

Connected services folks once told me to save our car battery over time from running down, the modem shuts off after 4 days. Maybe it’s 7 days now? Not a big deal to me but for those who travel and park your car at the airport for a week and upon return expect to remote start your car or honk the horn to help locate it, you probably will be SOL.

Could be but to me a key is the metal thing you put in a slot. The thing in the fob for emergency. Perhaps the OP can clarify what was used.

I don't disagree, but I know of no way to start the car with the metal key.
