If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

A quick perusal of genesis.ca has IFLS showing as available for all vehicles except the GV70. It would be a shame for them to take a step backwards by not including it with the GV60. You'd imagine their first EV would be a technological showcase.

When I put down my deposit here in BC, the dealer told me, the pricing was coming in the last two weeks of February & their demo car was to arrive the last week of February or first week of March. He sent me the official brochure yesterday so I guess we’ll see in the next couple of weeks who’s info is closest to the mark.

I too am also wondering if the pricing does break the $80K mark if I’m jumping ship.

Past $80K I'd be quite tempted to drop down to save $10K and go with a Polestar 2, or $20K with a Kia EV6. At $70K I'm 100% in.

I'm a little skeptical that pricing will be sharp. I just read an article that there were only a handful of car brands which sold, on average, for less than asking price in the U.S. I don't know if it's as bad in Canada, but there doesn't seem to be much available to buy, so I don't imagine there's much incentive for low prices. I popped into a local Hyundai dealership earlier this week to see if I could stomach an Ioniq 5, and the showroom did not have a single vehicle in it. The salesperson I dealt with said that they have a couple testers on the lot, but just about everything is sold before or immediately upon arrival.

Past 80k and it also brings into play the Model 3/Y Performance, BMW i4 M50, and Audi e-tron (not that I'd want one) too. I don't see the value add over the EV6 either- thats a pretty great car that has 90% of what the GV60 does for 57k on the highest end after the iZEV credit. For me the tipping point is probably just above 70 where it stops making sense.

And you're definitely right about prices - I wouldn't expect any EV to have incentives or discounts from MSRP in Canada because they can sell everything they make immediately. Laws against dealer gouging and market adjustments in Canada give us a much fairer shot at buying these cars than the nightmare in the US right now. My Hyundai rep also confirmed that they won't even take deposits for 2022 cars anymore because its all just queuing for the 2023 allocation and if I wanted the Ultimate Ioniq 5 trim I'd be lucky to have a car before New Years.

I'm in the same boat. 70k and I'm in. 80k, I'm asking for my deposit back, and stay with my G70 a bit longer. There are so many nice cars you can get for 80k.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I asked for an update from my dealer and essentially it does look like they are able to access numbers to a certain extent:

Order/Deposit placed on Feb 8 for Advanced in Adriatic Blue.
In Top 10 of Dealer
In Top 212 Nationally
I'm guessing it will depend on the assembly line of Model and Colour combo's as to where I am in the actual build.

Any new information on pricing?

My dealer said Advanced will be $72,000 and Performance will be $80,000.
Unfortunately he said HDA will be downgraded to HDA1 instead of HDA2.

I've heard so many different estimates of the cost that I don't know what to believe. What I do know is the price on the Canadian Hyundai site for the top Ioniq 5 with ultimate package is $60k before incentives. Do you think Genesis is going to charge $20k more for more HP and upgraded interior? I was figuring maybe $15k more which means $75k for advanced...but $80k, I'll have to think about that.

I would be concerned if they actually brought the GV60 here without HDA2. Even the Ioniq 5 in Canada ships with HDA2, and the GV60 2022MY being sold in South Korea also comes with HDA2. If they were to downgrade some key tech features from the Korean model or just launch without it in Canada I don't see myself going through with the order.

I've now heard back from the GM of my local dealer. As of now the VIN hasn't even been assigned for their demo yet, so there are clearly some disappointing delays coming. Likewise he doesn't even have a timeline on pricing announcements anymore besides a promise to get in touch with me when he hears something.

It's too early to call, but with these delays on the demo cars alone, its probably a safe bet that customer orders are also going to be pushed out.

I agree, my dealer said earliest deliveries looks like end of summer, early fall at this point.

It is the Performance that is probably $80,000 not the Advanced. Also the Ioniq and EV6 get the $5000. rebate, so that also makes a difference to me, but perhaps not so much for high end customers.

My contact estimated pricing in March/April, finance info April/May, and pre-order arrivals in May/June.
I have some personal circumstances that make an April/May arrival attractive, but if things are delayed to Aug/Sept, I’ll just wait until early 2023. My current vehicle is barely two years old.

I think we should all be keeping negotiating principal #1 at heart - ”be prepared to walk.”
The EV6 presents a compelling alternative - particularly if the feds will kick in $5K for the purchase. I think that would have to be considered by the folks responsible for pricing the GV60 - what is, on paper, a $20K difference, is practically $25K.
There is a lot of new product coming on the market in the next couple years, and estimates are that the chip issue should be resolved by year end. I’d much rather wait and get something I really like than compromise to get something earl. The potential downside for me is the current used car market. I’d love to be able to sell my current car in this environment. It appreciated >$10K in the last year, despite getting a year older.

Hi friends new here. i have a deposit on the ioniq 5 and a matte white on white performance genesis. The dealer told me i should expect around 62500 all in(tax too) for ioniq 5 ultimate package.. Do you see the performance genesis being 20 k more than that ?

Not wanting to insult your intelligence but have you looked into the care of a matte finish on a car ?

With releases in the UK & Germany last week, fingers crossed that we get our Genesis news this week.
did anyone ask about the care of the matte finish? 🤡

That seems accurate for the Ioniq 5 - The Ultimate is 60-5k rebate for 55k+tax+fees for it. There's some mixed messaging on prices but I would imagine the base Performance GV60 between 68-80, an additional $1700 for the matte finish, then with tax on top. Probably 78-92 all in depending on on your local tax rate too.

Spoke to another dealer today and he says that Genesis is still on schedule to announce Canadian pricing by the end of this month (March) and that they expect a floor model by mid April. I hope that's true
BTW, am I the only one who thinks the GV60 looks sort of like the Porche Macan? That's a pretty good comparison in my mind.

Yeah, I’m with you on Porsche look. I was at my Genesis dealer talking with a GV70 in front of me & once I started actually looking at it, thinking about the similarities to the GV60, then the Porsche thing hit me.

My local dealer says their Floor Model is on a ship and should be here the end of the March. But he has also said early March previously.
