YesThanks, Marty, for the heads up. No "recall" showing yet on the NHTSA site for 2009 or 2012:
Is this just a service campaign?
What's wrong with the cap?
I'll let you know after Tuesday Appn. when they replac it.What's wrong with the cap?
Sounds good! Ask them to show you the old cap, and show you what was bad in it.I'll let you know after Tuesday Appn. when they replac it.

Will do.Sounds good! Ask them to show you the old cap, and show you what was bad in it.
Post #7 clearly explains it. Originally, DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid was allowed, and indicated on the car. Now, only DOT4 is allowed, and is so indicated on the new cap. It's a nice shinney new cap, for sure. But, what was wrong with the old one? Just curious....
Ah. So it's improper labeling. I had the brake fluid changed under a recall many moons ago to the DOT4 at the dealer. I could see where the DOT3 on the cap could be an issue for future owners. So next time I go in for an oil change, I'll mention it to the dealer. No need to worry about it otherwise, then. And *that* is what I was trying to get at. I do see where Curt laid that out, and I missed that.Post #7 clearly explains it. Originally, DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid was allowed, and indicated on the car.
