From 1995 through 2017, there were more than 850 complaints to the government of exploding sunroofs in 200 plus models from 35 manufacturers. A total of 36 people were injured.

The day I bought my car, October 2017 I opened, then closed the roof and it has not been opened since. I do have the shade open but not a big deal. I'd not miss it and would not pay extra for the option.
